After much frustration at 11:00 pm traveling with a family of 5 and not being able to find suitable accomodations in Abiliene TX, this hotel just down the road 25 min was well worth the wait. We were able to relax in the comfort of a VERY clean and friendly hotel. July 3, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Front Desk Staff and great room service Interior areas of the hotel were excellent. The cleanliness of all areas was excellent. Areas for improvement: The shower heads need to be different as they can not be adjusted for the correct pressure. You may want to change out some of the carpets as you have much traffic by contract companies going to the oil fields. The exteriorof the hotel in some areas required regular lawn maintenance as there were bushes to be trimmed and weeds to be sprayed or pulled. the location of the hotel was to close to the interstate which is traveled day and night by large semi-trailer trucks. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great service We stopped late and had no problem getting a room, we were upgraded without asking so we would be more comfortable. Staff was very polite and accomodating. They recommended places to eat and called to be sure they were still open. Breakfast was great. Hotel was clean, room was clean. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. July 1, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Room placement was terrible My room was at the end of the first floor hallway. I thought this would be a benefit, since I was close to the exit door and parking lot. I was wrong. The traffic through the door at late and early hours was loud. The door slammed constantly throughout the night. The stairs were right next to the exterior door, so I also had the added irritation of that door slamming and hearing loud voices and people climbing the stairs all night. Consequently, I didn't sleep for two nights. The room was clean and the hotel is in good shape,. This review likely would have been different if I had been away from the exit door. March 17, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Finding the right place to stay We were nearing the end of a 5 week road trip. Mostly we stayed with family but we had 5 nights in motels. The Sweetwater Holiday Inn Express was the only stop where we found both the pool and hot tub available and better yet, without any other users. The facility was clean, like new, and the staff was most pleasant. Although not on the beaten path, when we come this way in the future, we will aim to make our layover at this HI Express. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Room #304 - Sweetwater Overall this (approximately 7 year old) facility is satisfactory for a nights stay while on the road. Staff advised refurbishment was beginning and there may be some "dust" around. We didn't notice dust so much as an obvious lack of regular carpet and floor vacuuming. Even within the room, we felt it necessary to clean the bathroom tile floor with a soapy towel before using. Carpet, in the room, was badly in need of vacuuming as well. Aside from the above noted issues, all staff were cooperative and most efficient. The breakfast served was outstanding. Perhaps once the facility refurbishment is completed, this hotel will again be comparable to the norm expected of the hotel chain. December 20, 2013

Had to keep unplugging it and hitting reset button to have it turn on. carpeting border falling down. shower head either put out stinging wide stream or a close stream with no water pressure. Pancake machine in food are kept breaking down. Due to the large number of workers in town, it became extremely noisy during the morning. December 9, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great staff Last minute decision to stay due to bad weather. Arrived at 3:00AM with ice all over my car from the winter storm. Staff was welcoming from the beginning. Unfortunately, after about an hour the room was still cold. Heater did not work so we were given a diffrent room. Before we moved over to the 2nd room, staff informed that heater was not working either. By 4:30 am we were moved from a suite to a small room (3rd room), but the heater worked this time. Did not get much sleep but the room was comfortable while we were there. The staff was caring and apologized for the inconvenience. Breakfast was good. We checked out early and to our surprise, the manager on duty comped our room due to the inconvenience. That was nice of them to do that. I'd still recommend this hotel and I will definately stay there again - as long as the ac/heater works ;) December 1, 2013

Breakfast was very good, however the noise from the freeway and adjacent rooms was not acceptable. Also I tried to set a wake up call using the room phone. It didn't work. I know there is a lot of construction and oilfield workers staying, so there was a lot of dirt from work boots in the 3rd floor hall near the elevator. The desk chair had a broken armrest, which almost made me fall out of the chair when pushed up on the armrest. The shower, which you couldn't notice against the marble look until you were in the shower, had a blob of greasy hair or something. I would like to see a full blackout curtain instead of sheer curtains. Being on the 3rd floor, you're closer to the street lights, which come right on through the sheer curtains. Also, had trouble locating the hotel, called the front desk, told them where I was, and they sent me the wrong direction from the hotel. Mind you this was just as the sun was going down, and never been in this town before. November 18, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by oops We were a late arrival and the first room they sent us to had no sheets and the bedding was all piled into a chair. So we were quickly whisked off to another room and as we were settling in, the air conditioner went out... and it was hot. After searching, the very sweet desk clerk got us into our 3rd room. They were very kind and pleasant and helpful We were not charged and we had a great night's rest. The staff went above and beyond to assure our well being. We WILL stay there again. October 23, 2013

Called ahead for a reservation and the first person that answered the phone was very short but the reservation line that I was forwarded to was very happy to help despite being midnight. Reservations were very easy to make over the phone. My party and I arrived at the Hotel at 3am and were received by a very helpful and cheerful desk clerk. I forgot to set up a wake up call at the desk during check in so I called down to the desk to set one up. The phone was answered quickly and politely. When the phone went off in the morning, the wake up service automated system said the time was 945am when I set up a wake up call at 8am. I was very upset until I looked at my watch and saw it was 8am. Unnecessary stress for first waking up but no big deal. The newly remodeled floor still had air in the water lines but it wasn't bad. The shower curtain rod was hanging loose but still worked fine. Went downstairs for some breakfast and everything was still very clean at 830am which probably means that most people had already been and gone. All the food was fresh and warm but there was no gravy for the biscuits. The morning staff were all very friendly and personable. After turning in my room key I made a trip out to the truck to drop off some bags, when I came back in my receipts were ready for me and the desk clerk called me by my name. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Work in progress Our room was on the 1st floor (rm 105) where a remodel was in progress. The carpet was not dirty, but not entirely clean. We attributed it to the remodel. The toilet would continue to run between flushes and the shower curtain did not prevent water from getting on te bathroom floor. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was good. September 25, 2013
