Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Hotel With Convenient Location My husband and I came here for a weekend getaway - we won a gift certificate to the hotel in a fundraiser and I also have a friend who works for IHG. The location is very convenient - it wasn't a long walk to downtown where all the restaurants and shops are but the hotel sits on the quiet side of town thankfully. Parking at the hotel is $10.00 per night unless you can locate one of the few (and I mean like under a dozen) parallel parking spaces around the hotel. There is no bell hop so don't expect help bringing in your bags. The front desk staff was nice enough. We noticed there was a wedding party when we arrived and we asked to not be on the same floor as them (been there done that) and they were able to accommodate our move prior to check in, although we were still woken a few times during the night but a few stragglers from the wedding party on our floor. *sigh*. We did not eat or drink at the bar so I can not comment on that but did notice they had complimentary citrus infused ice water available. Considering the cost of the hotel I would have expected more channels on the TV - there is not a great selection but wi-fi was free and I was able to conduct some business before we set off to dinner. Our room was very nicely appointed and beds are comfortable. Bathrooms are equipped with Aveeno bath/hair supplies. Your key card needs to remain in the light switch to keep the lights on - it's part of conserving energy. The only thing that bothered me about the room that the ceiling over the bed area is concrete so there is no overhead lighting which is fine but you need to make up for that in some other way and they didn't do a great job of that. I'm speaking from a professional stand point as I am an interior designer. One lamp on the dresser would help tremendously with the lack of lighting. Overall a nice stay and if I were to return to Athens I would most likely stay here again. August 28, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome Hotel! I absolutely love coming to town to stay at this hotel. The staff is always VERY welcoming and accommodating. The interior of the hotel is modern yet comfortable. Great food at the bistro and drinks at the bar! Specifically, I wanted to mention an employee by name. On Wednesday night of my stay, I was not feeling the best in the world. I called down to order room service. (I ordered a pepperoni pizza which was DIVINE!) However, most importantly the server who took my order and delivered the food was named Michelle. She was amazing! So mice and pleasant to be around. She even called about 20 minutes after I got my food to make sure all was satisfactory. What an asset she is to your staff! I also love being able to walk to the Classic Center. I will give you the one con to this hotel that I believe is an issue. Te noise level is crazy. I always request to be on the 5th floor (Penthouse) because of the noise. Something feel off my bed one night and I really wanted to call the room below me and apologize. I know it sounded like a bowling ball coming through the ceiling. I can remember staying there on the second floor and being able to hear the person in the room above me going to the restroom. I understand that it is part of the "green" ambiance that is going on, but seriously, there needs to be some insulation pumped in between, above, and below the rooms. Again, Hotel Indigo is one awesome hotel. I will stay there again and again if given the chance. August 27, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by An elegant hotel that is definitely a 5-star I have stayed in many hotels in the states and aboad. The Hotel Indigo is at the very top. Elegance, design, friendly staff and an incredible room! The room is very spacious and furnished so that you can make your stay feel "at home." The bathroom was huge and a shower that is nicer than the one I have at home. You don't get the feeling that you are in a hotel. You feel more like you are in a condo apartment that you have rented from the owner. The staff accommodated our needs for a refrigerator in our room, and recommended some great restaurants. They treated us like valued customers. If you are in the Athens area, stay at this hotel. Regardless of your reason for the visit, whether it be work or pleasure, it will become part of an enjoyable experience. I want to go back again soon....just to experience another couple of nights at the hotel and the downtown area again! August 25, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Refreshing! This is our second stay. We enjoyed it just as much as the first visit. The room was clean, the staff was friendly. Of course we are always looking into saving money so we wish we could get the room for under $100 but, we will come back. August 21, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Refreshing Design & Very Comfortable. Good Value! This hotel is fresh, very clean and gives excellent service! We will definitely be back! August 21, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lovely visit to a great city We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Outstanding, modern decor and exceedingly comfortable rooms. Two thumbs up! August 21, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The only boutique hotel to stay at in Athens If you want inner city comfort in a college town this is where you should stay. That is all. Enjoy! August 18, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Illimpressed I Expected just a little more for the price. This was the first hotel I've stayed at in the last 20 years that did not offer free breakfast. The offer of room service was unexpected and great. We enjoyed the breakfast and dinner meals. The staff was great, (SecurityOfficer, Restaurant Staff, Front Desk and Bartenders). Parking is limited due to location (downtown area). Was pricey. I've stayed at resorts with full kitchens, dinning area and separate bed room minutes from a beach for less. August 16, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent stay Very nice, clean, friendly helpful staff. Highly recommend and will stay here in future. August 12, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent hotel. We loved our stay at the Hotel Indigo in Athens. The decor of the room was simple yet stylish. The room as well as the entire hotel were very clean. The service was great especially Chris in the lobby bar/coffee shop. Even though I ordered breakfast at the bar, he insisted on helping me carry my oatmeal and coffees to my room. We would definitely recommend this hotel to all our friends that need a place to stay in Athens especially for game day as it is super convenient to the campus. August 9, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great meeting venue We had a fabulous team meeting at the Hotel Indigo, Athens. The sales team were in particular incredibly helpful in the planning of our week and really made that a great experience. It is a lovely hotel, with enthusiastic team members - can highly recommend it! August 2, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by LEEDS Property I appreciate the efforts to design a hotel that represents a practical and environmentally conscience plan. I feel a sense of calm in the serene modern atmosphere. The cleanliness is apparent due to wood floors in the rooms and hard floor surfaces in other area. We look for to this experience when the price is right. August 1, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Favorite hotel in Georgia I travel most weeks of the year and the Indigo in Athens is my favorite place to stay in Georgia. The rooms are spotless, spacious and the decor is fabulous. Staff at the Indigo are both professional and friendly. Thank you for putting me in my favorite room. July 30, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Indigo very nice Excellent all the way around. The dinner menu was great. They could improve the food flavor a bit. July 25, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hotel An amazing hotel experience! Staff was friendly, rooms were clean, and the food was delicious. Would definitely stay here again. It's so green. How cool is that? July 23, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Special Hotel The staff of Hotel Indigo quickly got to know who we were and made our wedding weekend exceptional. Our guests enjoyed the unique hotel and relaxed in the courtyard. We had a wonderful cocktail party, catered dinner and after dinner gathering for 140 people in the Rialto Room. The hotel and catering staff were seamless. I look forward to staying here on our next trip South. July 20, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Athens Twilight Stay We stayed at Hotel Indigo Athens for the Twilight Criterium. This was my 3rd year attending the race and my first stay at Hotel Indigo. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and were impressed with the unique décor and design that sets the Indigo family of hotels apart from the boring cookie cutter ones where we've stayed in the past. I do wish that there was an exhaust fan in the bathrooms to help prevent fogged mirrors and humidity build up. Additionally, I wish the breakfast was complimentary as you will find this is common for most other hotels that charge the same nightly rate. All in all-- we will back yearly if not twice a year for future trips to Athens. The best part was probably the roominess of each guest room as well as the comfort of the king sized beds! We were also impressed with Hotel Indigo in Jacksonville this past weekend! July 16, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good, but one problem The staff was extremely helpful, especially the lady at the front desk. Everybody was helpful. I was there at a conference with my wife. Everything went ok except the lunch, could be a better service. I thought that the lady who was serving at lunch almost was watching us and told us that my wife would have to wait until everybody ate lunch even though we had asked the person on day one. She felt that they had some misunderstanding and did not have enough lunch since my wife ate. We were vegetarians, some of the stuff they had, we didn't even eat. My wife had one bread and some veggies, ice tea. Are you telling me that the cook could not make enough for about 30 people. Whenever in this situation, the cook usually makes extra at least for five people. I was embarrased when the lady asked me in front of everybody. We did not eat after that. Very unprofessional from the lady. Every body else was really good and helpful especially the lady at the front in the morning. July 2, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A great place to stay in Athens Staff and hotel are great. The location is in walking distance to just several places to eat, shop or have a socail drink. June 26, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Nice design, fast depreciation This new hotel in Athens provides a nice new look. But the hotel is wearing fast. My room had a broken lock and tiles falling out in the shower. I was very surprised how worn it had become in such a short period of time. The staff was great and I can't complain about value, but wish they would maintain things before they get too far gone. June 25, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Clean, safe, upscale design Everything you would expect in a boutique hotel. My daughter and I stayed for a week and felt safe and taken care of. However, a microwave and refrigerator in the room would have been nice. June 24, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Room We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel while our friends were getting married. The hotel was beautiful and the rooms were really nice. The only thing I really did not like was the fact we had to pay $10 per night to park in their gated parking lot. The hotel room was already slightly expensive but then to add an additional cost to park is a little over the top. Overall is was a nice hotel and if you have the money to stay then you should enjoy it. It is within walking distance of a lot of shops and places to eat! June 24, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A Wonderful Stay Our romantic weekend stay was exquisite. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We were recognized as priority members and treated like royalty. Our room was comfortable, clean, and the light from the large panel windows was fantastic. We loved being able to walk downtown for a night out but could have had a lively weekend without leaving the hotel at all. Thank you for the hospitality. Hotel Indigo made our trip. June 20, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Too expensive for experience The rooms were wonderful, especially the shower. in bathroom was poorly designed. Found men's dirty underwear in bathroom when 1st checked in. Maids did not replace toiletry items needed each day. Only hotel in Athens, including other comparable hotels, that does not offer guests free coffee in the lobby through out the day. Most all staff members were quite snooty! Overall, my husband and I felt as though we were doing Hotel Indigo a favor by staying with them instead of them making us feel as welcomed guests. June 18, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful Staff The staff at this hotel are amazing. They remembered me from a year ago and one of the housekeeping staff remembered the name of my dog!! The facility is flawless. The beds are comfortable and the showers have great pressure. A perfect stay. June 18, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by New, clean & friendly! Love staying here! One thing that would make it even better would be complimentary coffee in the mirnings. June 18, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by An amazing stay... I am always reluctant to stay in a college town when said college has a football team (at least I think this is true in Athens). I travel weekly for my job back in Florida and only wish this hotel was on my travel circuit...this place rocks... June 14, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by great weekend stay in town for the weekend and this was our first stay at an indigo and we were pleasantly surprised by the staff and amenities. We will be back. June 14, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great service for our daughter's wedding weekend. The staff was most accommodating and gracious as we planned the use of Hotel Indigo's facilities for our daughter's wedding and reception. All of the staff, including the front desk, food and beverage, and housekeeping worked hard in making sure all details were taken care of. The Rialto Room private facility is well designed for large events, in this case the reception, and the courtyard well suited for the wedding ceremony. We were very pleased in all aspects of our experience at Hotel Indigo - Athens! June 10, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Exlempary Service and Style As a frequent guest at the Hotel Indigo, besides the aesthetically pleasing architecture and overall warmth of the hotel itself, the staff has more than exceeded expectations. Having stayed at the hotel for an extended amount of time, I have more than likely been more demanding of staff than a typical guest; from the front desk, to management, to the staff at the bistro, to housekeeping, I have been refreshingly accommodated at every request and more than appreciative of the professionalism, friendliness, and courtesy with which they have consistently responded . If you enjoy a well-designed hotel with rooms featuring floor-to-ceiling windows, expansive dimensions, and all of the amenities you expect from a boutique hotel, the Hotel Indigo is for you. But, if you really appreciate high-end, quality customer service (not exactly ubiquitous in most establishments), then you'll be doing yourself a favor staying there. June 7, 2013
