Cardinal Stadium is walking distance to the property. The home of the University of Louisville Cardinals and host to numerous concerts.

The University of Louisville (also known as U of L or UL) home of Cardinal athletics. Founded in 1798, it was the first city-owned public university in the United States and one of the first universities chartered west of the Allegheny Mountains. The university is mandated by the Kentucky General Assembly to be a "Preeminent Metropolitan Research University". U of L enrolls students from 118 of 120 Kentucky counties, all 50 U.S. states, and 116 countries around the world.

Founded in 1969, the Louisville Zoological Garden, is a 135 acre zoo. The "State Zoo of Kentucky" currently exhibits over 1,300 animals in naturalistic and mixed animal settings. The Louisville Zoo is accredited by the American Zoo and Aquarium Association (AZA) and the American Association of Museums (AAM). During the 2006-07 season, the zoo set an all-time yearly attendance record with 810,546 visitors. The Louisville Zoo's mission is "To better the bond between the people and our planet."

The Louisville Slugger Museum shows the history of the Louisville Slugger brand, and baseball in general. The production of the bats is presented, along with historical examples of bats (such as an 1880s Pete Browning bat they recently discovered or the bat that Babe Ruth used to hit his last home run as a Yankee). Outside is a six-story bat that appears to be leaning against the museum.The bat weighs 68,000 pounds.It is billed as the world's largest bat, although it is hollow and made of steel.

The Muhammad Ali Center, a museum and cultural center built as a tribute to the champion athlete and his values, is located in Louisville, Kentucky's "Museum Row" in the West Main District of downtown.

The Louisville Science Center has a rich history. The Science Center is now the largest hands-on science center in Kentucky, with about 150 interactive exhibits and activity stations, a four-story IMAX Theatre, teaching laboratories, educational programs, and distance learning capabilities. Designated the “State Science Center of Kentucky” by the 2002 Kentucky General Assembly, the Louisville Science Center features interactive exhibits and engaging programs for children, families and adults.
