Must See

Must See

Less than half an hour's leisurely stroll from the hotel, in Brandon Hill Park, you can climb the spiral staircase of the Victorian Cabot Tower to take in the panoramic city views. While you are in the area, travel back in time with a visit to the Georgian House. Standing east of the park, this museum is a well-preserved example life above and below stairs in a typical 18th-century townhouse.
Must Do

Must Do

Save some time to ramble through the Georgian terraces of inner-city Clifton, about two miles west of the hotel. You can relax in one of its many watering holes or eateries, then check out the iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge. Or take the family to Bristol Zoo Gardens to see the many exotic and endangered species there, such as Asiatic lions and gorillas. There's also a water play area.
Don't Go Home Without

Don't Go Home Without

A 30-minute walk from the hotel, just across Bristol Harbour, you can board Brunel's SS Great Britain, now a museum in dry dock. You can explore the reconstructed interiors – don't miss the luxurious First Class cabins – and the authentic-smelling ship’s kitchen. Tour the decks of this iconic passenger ship that was the first iron steamship to cross the Atlantic, in 1845.

Bristol is home to a number of second-hand bookshops, including Beware of the Leopard Books, a short stroll south of the hotel. Bloom & Curll Bookshop, just 15 minutes' walk from the hotel, has a range of eclectic and cult titles. Continue west to the Victorian Clifton Arcade, in the trendy Clifton café district, to shop for antiques, jewelry and vintage clothing.
