The town of St Albans is 15 minutes’ drive from the hotel. A visit to the Verulamium Museum reveals what life in Roman Britain was like through hands-on displays. Take a free guided tour of the imposing Norman St Albans Cathedral, with its 11th-century bell tower, to learn about its contrasting architectural styles. In summer, the nearby Butterfly World makes an interesting visit for the kids.
