The entrance to the Grand Canyon National Park NORTH RIM is located 77 miles south of Kanab on Highway 67; the actual rim of the canyon is an additional 14 miles south. Jacob Lake, AZ is located in northern Arizona on Highway 89A, not far from the Utah border. Grand Canyon lies entirely within the state of Arizona.

Feel like you've wandered into a fantastical landscape at Bryce Canyon National Park. The main attraction at this park are the hoodoos, or tall, thin spires of rock that rise from the basin. You can enjoy the best views of these unique geological structures from the Bryce Amphitheater. Hike the Navajo Loop and Queen's Garden, stargaze in the clear night skies, and head back to our hotel just over an hour away for a restful night's sleep.

Utah's treasured Zion National Park is just a short drive from our hotel. Step into another world when you enter the park, with red sandstone cliffs rising on all sides and a green riverbank area winding through. Hike the challenging yet thrilling Angels Landing trail, tackle the Checkerboard Mesa, or wind your way through The Narrows. From cascading waterfalls and aquamarine pools to juniper-lined cliffs and accessible trails, there's something here for everyone.

Encompassing over 1.2 million acres, Glen Canyon National Recreational Area, also known as Lake Powell, offers unparalleled opportunities for water-based and backcountry recreation. The recreation area stretches for hundreds of miles from Lees Ferry in Arizona to the orange cliffs of Southern Utah, encompassing scenic vistas, geologic wonders, and a vast panorama of human history.

Cedar Breaks National Monument is a natural amphitheater spanning three miles, with depths of over 2,000 feet. At 10,000 feet above sea level, the monument enjoys cooler temperatures, thousands of wildflowers, and plenty of spots to hike along the rim. The monument is also a designated Dark Sky Park, so it's a perfect place to stargaze just over an hour from our Kanab hotel.

Nestled amongst the foothills of Kanab's Vermillion Cliffs, Coral Cliffs Golf Course provides not only breathtaking views but a very enjoyable golf experience for golfers of all levels. You will enjoy the great climate here as we are warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer compared to other surrounding cities.

Nestled in the breathtaking and aptly named "Angel Canyon" lies the largest no-kill animal shelter in the nation. Home to over 1,600 animals, Best Friends is the perfect place to visit or volunteer!

Visitors will wonder at the shifting arcs of crescent-shaped dunes and sift the fine, salmon-colored grains at Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park. The Park encompasses 3,730 acres of southern Utah's color country. The park itself is breathtaking, with coral-colored dunes, surrounded by red sandstone cliffs, blue skies, and deep emerald forests. This is a photographer's paradise.

The Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument’s vast and austere landscape embraces a spectacular array of scientific and historic resources. This high, rugged, remote region, where bold plateaus and multi-hued cliffs run for distances that defy human perspective, was the last place in the continental United States to be mapped.

At Frontier Movie Town, you can tour movie sets from Kanab's "Little Hollywood" glory days when hundreds of film companies turned the diverse and spectacular scenery into iconic images of the mythological West. The free movie museum on the back lot has original sets from The Outlaw Josey Wales, Sergeants 3, Desperate Hours, One Little Indian, Black Bart, and more. This free "Little Hollywood" museum lets visitors walk in the sets that immortalized the West.

Moqui Cave is a unique attraction just eight minutes from our hotel. Both an ancient cave and an interactive museum, the cave offers a mixture of natural history and cultural exhibits. Take in the Native American artifacts, dinosaur tracks, and minerals that glow under ultraviolet light. If you're a rockhound—or someone in your group is—you won't want to miss this fascinating spot.

See the spectacular Grand Canyon from the North Rim, a more peaceful, less-crowded experience compared to the South Rim. Thanks to the higher elevation here, the North Rim is cooler and shadier than its southern sister. Spend time gazing at scenic viewpoints, like Bright Angel Point and Cape Royal. Keep in mind that the North Rim is only open between mid-May and mid-October. At just over an hour from our hotel, the North Rim of Grand Canyon National Park makes a perfect day trip.
