Only 20 minutes’ walk from our hotel, the best views of Regensburg are from the 310-meter-long Stone Bridge (Steinerne Brücke), an impressive 12th-century structure that has straddled the Danube for more than 900 years. This masterpiece of medieval engineering, now for pedestrians only, also offers great views of the Danube and the many tourist and pleasure vessels that pass below.
Visit the old town of Regensburg and walk around the narrow, winding lanes of the old quarter. You can also see the St. Peter´s cathedral, the old town hall, the courtyards and private chapels of the medieval patrician houses, the Palace of the Princes of Thurn and Taxis and the Romanesque and Gothic buildings.
Don't Go Home Without
Do not miss a homemade "Bratwürstl" of the famous "Wurstkuchl". It is located right next to the Stone Bridge and the Salzstadel on the Danube.
Visit the world-famous Walhalla Hall of Fame of the Bavarian King Ludwig I., which is one of the most worth seeing highlights of the region. The Walhalla is one of the top 100 sights in Germany. You can climb this building either on foot over 358 steps or alternatively comfortably by car or bicycle.
