Great Management and Wonderful Staff

During my stay there were 2 Cyclones (cat 3 and cat 4) that hit Port Vila directly. The Management anticipated the storms and safeguarded the resort and guests in a fast and efficient manner. Loss of power was avoided through a state of art generator system, Complimentary meals were provided on many occasions. They clearly put guest safety and comfort as the number one priority.
The resort itself is very lush and beautiful with very comfortable rooms and villas. The Chef was top notch and the resort staff were professional and very engaging. I am an IHG Diamond member and I am not easily impressed, However I cannot say enough good things about this property and management.

The staff from those who greeted us, staff in the restaurant from chef's to helped us chose meals we're fantastic. The food and drinks we're beautiful from brekkie to dinners. The management we're fantastic and very helpful getting my partner and myself into the Valentine's Day dinner when full.
Island Time

After a multiple changes to our flights it was a relief to finally get to the hotel reception over 2 days later than originally planned. Even though it was about 10:15pm we were greeted cheerfully and shown to our room. I even got an upgrade thanks to my Diamond membership.
I mentioned that this holiday was a present for my wife's birthday.
The following day our attention was drawn to a large heart on the beach saying, Happy Birthday Carmel. At breakfast about a dozen staff sang her happy birthday and presented my wife with a cake - that was actually delicious!
There were special event nights organised by the hotel. The fire dancers and curry buffet was fabulous but the Melanesian culture night that went for 3 hours was fantastic. (Don't try and resist joining in the dancing, the Chief requests it!) Food and entertainment were truly excellent and great value too.
The real stars of this resort however are the staff. They are gold.
Some of the staff are new and still finding their feet but will do anything for you, albeit sometimes a little slower than might be expected but we were there to relax and very quickly got used to "Island Time".
One morning we arrived at breakfast late and sadly I missed out on the chilled coconuts. My wife asked a waitress if there were any available and the kind staff member offered to see if she could find one. It was probably about 10 minutes later she returned with a coconut. As there were none in the kitchen she had one of the other staff members climb one of the many coconut trees and pick a fresh one for me. Never have I known such dedication.
Sadly due to some pollution from the local hospital swimming in the lagoon is prohibited but there were two pools available for use. And it is so nice to have drinks and snacks served by the pool.
It must be hard to kick start a hotel after COVID and a cyclone but the Management and staff at Holiday Inn Vanuatu are doing a great job. While the rooms are a little tired ours was clean and serviced perfectly every day and we had no complaints. Our questions were always answered in a friendly manner and any request met happily.
The hotel is close enough to walk to town though when the weather is hot mean you might want to take an air conditioned taxi or even a bus.
Tours can be arranged through a very helpful staff member at the tours desk and the hotel will even supply towels to take out for your daily adventures.

The managing director personally took the time to let us know the precautions the hotel was taking with the incoming cyclone and made sure we were comfortable and happy with our stay. Very happy with the level of hygiene and service at at the hotel.

Great stay. Good buffet breakfast, large pool and a beautiful view of the lagoon. You can't swim in the lagoon due to a government directive. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The resort is in a gorgeous location, right on the lagoon, with the most amazing staff. There are plenty of activities for kids, and the staff were always keen to share their culture with us. Ricky at the pool bar makes the best Pina Coladas ever! Special thanks to Margaret and Bradley for being such superstars. Can’t wait to come back.
Family Stay

We had a great stay at the Holiday Inn with our family. We booked 2 rooms as we had 2 teenage children with us. The Rooms were very tidy, with enough space for a comfortable stay.
We had a few issues with the lights, which were dealt with in a very speedy manner.
The breakfast was great, being able to order your choice of eggs with a selection of fruit also available.
The pool was great to swim in. You could order a good selection of food and drinks at the Pool Bar.
An excellent location with a short Taxi ride or a 20-minute walk to town.
Many aspects can be improved quite easily.

So many things can be improved with this hotel. It could be a real jewel in the Pacific.
Upon check in Diamond Status was recognised but no room upgrade or welcome note in room. My mother in law despite being an entry level member booked the next level category and recieved a welcome note and bottle of rum (she rubbed this in a bit)
We had to remind them every morning that breakfast was included as we are Diamond members - even got charged for 6xbreakfasts on our checkout bill.
The rooms are a dated and lack proper ventilation- which is evident in the mould accumulating in several points. The sheets often felt damp. We had issues with getting towels. Some days we got them, some days we got a couple and some days we got none!
The breakfast was definitely not worth 35AUD - it was clearly understaffed and under supplied. We couldn't even get toast on a few days and many items were missing.
Overall the quality of the food ingredients was below par- compared to other local restaurants.

très bon hôtel, personnel très gentil et accueillant mais les petits déjeuné ne sont pas top, très médiocre l'endroit est sublime le paysage très beau une tranquillité parfaite je recommande cet Hôtel, la tv il n' a pas de chaines française sur le câble

Resort is nice but food choices and quality are poor for the price which necessitates expensive taxi rides or bus rides for the more adventurous to town because of the more remote location.

Excellent resort facilities but the food was underwhelming. not many vegetarian options and the quality of food also was inconsistent and quite poor. However, when this feedback was provided to the general manager, it was positively received and acknowledged with a care package provided upon check-out and a discount on room service bill, which was very much appreciated.
