    Located on the southern shore of Lake Erie, Cleveland was founded in 1796 by Moses Cleaveland and quickly became a hub for trading and industrial jobs. Since then, Cleveland has grown to be a bustling metropolitan city with a population of 383,793.

    Located in the Midwest of the United States, Ohio residents experience all four weather seasons. We recommend checking the weather and bringing an extra layer of clothing if necessary, as temperatures can vary significantly.

    To get around Cleveland, you can use the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system, an efficient network of bus lines that enable seamless movement around the city. You can also take advantage of free trolleys and rail transit lines. BRT passes are available online at the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority.

  • When Cleaveland became Cleveland

    When Cleveland was founded in 1796 the original name for the city was spelled Cleaveland. It changed when the local newspaper had to shorten its masthead by one letter, so they left out the 'a'.
