In 1879, The Comte de Breteuil ordered this beautiful hotel with a Haussmann-styled façade. The oldest building around the court was used as the count’s stable, for his 6 horses. The countess of Breteuil settle in the hotel. In 1846, Charlotte Fould (1826-1917) married Alexander Charles Joseph de Breteuil (1819-1906), son of Charles de Breteuil, Count of Breteuil (1781-1864). Charlotte Fould was the daughter of Achille Fould, Napoléon 3rd’s minister of finance. King Louis-Philippe signed their wedding contact, and the entire aristocracy attended the wedding.
