Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice hotel experience This hotel is conveniently located near SFO, but does not have the airport noise. I walked on Broadway and had a nice meal at Rocca Ristorante. There are many other restaurants in this area. The room was very nice, HVAC worked well, and the hotel staff was very attentive. I could see San Francisco Bay from my room. Thanks. February 20, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Tale of two employees For the most part, the hotel serves it's purpose. Bed was comfortable, although whoever decorated these rooms should be shot. One functional note- I don't understand hotels today that don't have a minimum of one free electric outlet on each nightstand. Front desk was great. Warm, friendly, engaging. Room service associate was a nightmare. I'm not sure how he could have more clearly projected that he couldn't care less about his job or hotel guests. On first interaction, he informed me I needed to call housekeeping if I needed a menu because they take care of that. When I finally got a menu, it was a restaurant menu that didn't include desserts. When I asked the gentleman if he could tell me what desserts were available, he was audibly annoyed. He said there was a creme brulee. I ordered it. When delivered, it was something like a pumpkin-cinnamon creme brulee. It wasn't what I wanted, and wasn't very good, just like the service. 4:35 am shuttle was right on time, so the hotel served it's main purpose. Kudos to the front desk - room service needs work. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 Bar/Restaurant and shuttle service I ate at the bar, food was good but service poor. Young male bartender inattentive even though 5 max customers at bar during my visit and minimal needs from restaurant servers. He was more concerned with conversing with fellow employees than taking care of customers. One man left after standing at bar for 3 to 5 minutes waiting for service while bartender chatted with employees at far end. Shuttle did not show for my 4:03 AM pick up. Numerouse guests waitng to get to airport and we started calling cabs. I ended up getting a cab at 4:30 and just made my flight. January 31, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Had to stay here...won't do it again - Theshower/bath water took several minutes to warm up - Very noisy guests on the main floor, in the halls and common areas. Lack of management involvement to make sure the property accomodate all guests - $18/day parking fee is ridiculous considering the level of hotel, the location, and that I was a paying overnight guest. Maybe in the city, but not in the burbs. - Decor was OK, but this is basically an old hotel that has been revamped multiple times. Still looks, feels, and smells old. Considering the rate, the experience would have been the same at a best western or holiday inn January 22, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Noisy and Cold Room - Terrible Breakfast My employer booked a room for me at this hotel for just one night (thank goodness). Because of the lack of sound insulation, close proximity to a freeway, and drafty windows, my room was very noisy and cold. The heater cycled continuously due to the inability of the room to hold an even temperature. I started and quickly ended my breakfast in the morning after a taste of foul coffee and pouring curdled, expired milk on my cereal. I checked out early in order to "relax" at the airport terminal and obtain some quality food for breakfast. It was fortunate that I did because the hotel shuttle was late and overpacked. I cannot recommend this hotel at any cost. January 19, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Credit Card Snafu & Temperature Controls I made reservations on-line with a Discover Card. When I arrived, the desk person asked for the credit card I used to make the reservation. When I asked which card that was, she said Discover but that they don't accept Discover. Why did the on-line interface allow me to enter a Discover Card number if they don't accept it? That's just asking for trouble as you shouldn't be able to provide a credit card unless it will be used. Now they have two of my credit card numbers on file. No one expects to be hacked but if their systems are compromised, two of my credit cards are at risk. If they don't accept Discover, they should reprogram their internet reservation interface to not accept Discover. They didn't charge my Discover card so that is not the issue but unnecessary providing credit card information has the potential for fraud. When I arrived in the room it was cold. I tried to adjust the temperature using the controls on the wall-mounted heater/air conditioner. After a few minutes, I realized, those controls don't work and the "real" controls are on the thermostat on the other side of the room. Some signage on the wall mounted unit would be helpful. Other than those two issues, my stay was fine. It was very good for the price. January 13, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Poor management decisions Despite my stay at this hotel being pretty good, I am disappointed with the management. After checking out I was charged $150 for "smoking in the room" after they supposedly found a "book of matches", something I DO NOT USE, and some tobacco in a trashcan, which was there after I dumped out the little pieces from my portable cigar pocket humidor. At this point in time, management is standing fast, but I am still fighting them! December 29, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Old windows makes for poor sleep If it's a good night's rest you're looking for, you won't get it here. The windows are old and antiquated. Being next to the freeway makes it much worse with all the road noise. Staff was friendly and helpful and tried to accomodate but it's just in a poor location. They give you earplugs, but who wants them in their ear?! I sure don't! Fitness equipment is old and rundown, too. December 23, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Well Located Hotel - 0 Amenities I have stayed at this hotel twice now and was very impressed with the welcome! The water and snacks were a great treat after a long day of travel. Other than that, however, this hotel does not offer any extra amenity. There is no free coffee/tea in the lobby in the morning, the "executive level" does not have any extras (cocktail hour, breakfast, etc like most Crowne Plazas), and the restaurant was impossible to get coffee to go at in the morning. The room was EXCEPTIONALLY loud (being on the side facing the highway) and the walls were very, very thin between the rooms. I do not think I will stay at this property again. December 19, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nice clean room, But: Ask to be placed on the traffic side of the hotel. It beats the airport noise. Rooms are small but comfortable. No frig or microwaves. The parking fee of $ 18.00 was a bit much. I'm a handicapped personal, and the only designated parking spot was just out side the convention rooms. We come back from a Xmas party to find a huge party at the hotel. And approx. 35 people just outside the door smoking. Tho the state law states 25 feet from any entrance. I would stay again only because the staff were great and the room was spotless..... December 15, 2012

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not a bad hotel, but the food isn't great and the parking is overpriced I ordered room service and had a salad. The greens tasted like they had not been washed. I had breakfast the next day, and for what you pay, it wasn't worth it. I ate out the rest of the trip. They also charge $18.00 A DAY to park your car in an open parking lot. Neighbour to freeway, quite noisy and can not sleep well. Room is small, pillow is uncomfortable. I will never select it agian. December 3, 2012

Everyone was very helpful from the reservation I made by phone to the desk clerk who recommended a shuttle bus to a nearby place for dinner. Room was clean. It was helpful to have a business center with printer available to print new boarding passes as well. November 3, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good location, just a average hotel A Crowne Plaza should be an up scale hotel and this on is definitely not. the lobby looks great. Thankfully we only stayed 1 night. The rooms look nice but on further inspection our room had many flaws things that shoiuld not be in a Crowne Plaza. 1 the toilet seat was peeling, 2 the bed had a very cheap feel not supportive at all. Kind of felt one step above a hide a bed but definetely not the kind of bed that should be in a Crowne Plaza. 3. The pillows were worn out and in terrrible shape. we had 4 people in our party and not one of us sleeped well. 4. As a platnum member I almost always get a room upgrade, this time I was not even asked if I wanted one. Lastly, do not expect to sit in the hot tub here it looked like a very uncomfortable 4 person hot tub. but thats is only if you know the 4 people if not it is a 2 person hot tub. The good stuff was the staff was very nice and the did give us 2 rooms next to each other and they had a free Airport shuttle, the reason why we stayed there. October 27, 2012

We were pleased with the quality of the room. Although we did not use the pool or fitness room, they also looked nice. We had a nice dinner in the hotel. The airport shuttle worked very well for us. They make it up with additional fees. Service leave a little bit to be desired. I had to request twice to have the condiments replaced in my room. October 21, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by This Crown Plaza needs to be updated I have stayed at this property several times in the past. After this two day stay I will not stay there again. The hotel is older and the rooms need to be updated. Bathrooms are small and the maid left two bath towels for two people. My wife and I take a minimum of two showers daily and we like fresh towels. They also charge $18.00 per day parking, even though I am a platinum priority club member. I know that hotels need to make money, but for a platinum priority member. The windows need to be replaced as the sound from the freeway is terrible. October 19, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Business friendly location but pricey This was a very convenient location for my meetings but the hotel was quite expensive for the quality of stay. Staff only wanted to provide minimal assistance. Was annoyed that rooms no longer have refrigerators and the hotel refused to store my chilled food samples in the kitchen refrigerators which is normal practice worldwide. Directions were given to a local restaurant that didn't even exist any more. There a not many good restaurants near this hotel without quite a drive. October 18, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 The water pressure of the shower is not good The water pressure of the shower is not good so that i was not able to use the shower for bathing. My room number is 632. When I complained this to the staff in your hotel front desk, he told me that the water pressure for the shower should be the same for each room, which I don't believe at all. October 12, 2012
