First impressions following a lengthy lapse since my previous stay was I am afraid to say not very encouraging as compared to other Crowne Plaza hotels throughout the Middle East and Far East. Two weeks ago spent a fortnight at Crowne Plaza Bahrain and it continues to keep abreast of current trends in similar vein to plush Intercontinental Hotels in Singapore, Hong Kong and China where I have spent a lot of time recently. I was not impressed by the incongruous light 'wedges' hanging in the main atrium, and are both unimaginative and 'threatening' in a relatively confined space whilst the once marvellous 'Clydeside' mural is sadly no longer a focal issue. Furthermore, I also noticed that the ship model at the entrance has disappeared. February 4, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Crowned plaza glasgow Hotel fine, parking ok and reception worked quick and guided me to my room. Decided to eat In the bar area which was a mistake, staff pre occupied and ordered food and waited almost an hour for a burger. Person sat next to me received his food in 10 minutes, yet bar staff had no recollection of my order and only when I asked for a manager did one of them take go to the kitchen and returned 15 minutes later. For anyone on their own I suggest that you try the restaurant as it's probably quicker. January 26, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Recent stay I've stayed three different occasions over the last couple of months. The hotel is excellent, staff very friendly and housekeeping and standard of rooms top class. Of course there usually is a negative here or there and no exception here. Wifi signal isn't strong escpeilly in the rooms. I had gluten free bread and sausages for breakfast which is excellent to have it on the menu but very frustrated when I couldn't get a gluten free option through room service. I ended up with soup which got served with normal bread and ended up sick after eating the soup only. The above doesn't stop me giving the hotel top marks as it is an excellent stay but just need a couple of small things improving. January 26, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great stay ruined by poor dining service I was delighted with my double room when I stayed last week - it was lovely, clean and well-decorated. Staff at reception were very helpful as were most of the waiting staff but having been sat at a table by one of the waitresses, served my glass of wine and awaiting someone to take my food order, the manageress stomped up to me and asked if I'd just sat there myself. I replied that a waitress had shown me to the table and she replied, " Its a VIP table, I have it reserved and you need to move." Although I moved to another table, I felt upset and second class. The service was quite slow and I didn't feel like the staff were that bothered about my experience. Thankfully the food was lovely but I didn't have a dessert as no-one came to take my order for such a long time I got fed up waiting and decided to leave. January 25, 2014

The toaster was useless and filled the restaurant with the smell of burnt toast and the bacon was hard on a two of the four times I had breakfast. Evening meals were very good. Steak was perfect. Also I would expect the internet to be free like most other hotels I visit. January 25, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Total mix up We stayed for one night in January 2014. On booking we were not informed of building work going on in reception/bar area. There was certainly no 'ambient' atmosphere on booking in due to the extensive drilling/hammering. Booking had been mixed up so adjoining rooms were not given #as had been requested#, and we had one less bed than required. Another bed eventually arrived 4 hours after checking in. One adult ended up having to sleep in a toddler bed! Dinner booking was mixed up by reception staff and dinner booked at 5.30 pm #with 3 kids# was not actually finished until 7.30 pm. This was supposed to be a relaxing stay with family and it was a complete shambles from the minute we arrived. We did receive some compensation from the hotel for the problems we encountered but due to the extensive nature of the issues we had, I would not recommend this hotel to others. January 21, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hotel, if you dont need to get through to reception Stayed at this hotel for many weeks with work now and quality of rooms and food is excellent. Fantastic staff In the club lounge and overall staff throughout is great. My only 2 consistent moans about this hotel are 1. Every day I return back to the hotel the cleaner NEVER once has replaced or left me another breakfast room service order slip and every day I have to call house keeping to complain and request another to be delivered so I can order breakfast to my room. 2. You can NEVER get hold of reception on the phone from your room between 5 and 9.... constantly just rings out which a pain when something is wrong, and often when im checking in the phone on reception is just constantly ringing, I appreciate the priority is to chdck people In but surely a better system is needed here, I dont see the same issue in any other hotel I stay in (I am staying in hotels at least 6 months a year with work and it seems this issue only happens here..... ) Apart from the 2 above petty moans I wouls highly recommend this hotel. The room I was allocated was noisy and rather shabby with a brown stains on the bathroom ceiling and wallpaper coming away from the wall. Moved to another room for second night, room much better. I believed Crowne Plaza was of a better standard then this hotel gave. It is unlikely i will stay at this hotel again nor will I advise colleagues to stay here despite being a Priority Club Member. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Family weekend Wonderful weekend with my family to go to a show at the hydro. Our two family rooms were lovely. The children enjoyed going to the pool before breakfast. Only downside was that due to the refurbishments, the temporary bar area lacked atmosphere and we waited over half an hour on a table for breakfast. The staff however were very courteous and did as much as they could to help. Perhaps having drinks readily available while waiting on a table would ease this. January 18, 2014

Very disappointed we weren't told about the building works at the time of booking. Staff all very helpful and the breakfast was very good although we did have to wait 25 minutes for a table!! Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Average Service Compared too the Crown Plaza Roxburgh, this hotel is average. Rooms are nice enough and if you are on a high floor you get excellent views of the clyde and city. Beds are comfortable and there is a fridge in your room, which is meant to be for the mini bar. This was not stocked, where as edinburghs they are. On my arrival the staff came across as if she could not be bothered. Due to my reward scheme, I am entitled to a free drink or additonal points. I asked her that if I took the drink would my partner get one too, she replied no, however in edinburgh we did. The leisure facilities are requiring upgrading. Many thing were not working. Overall it was the service that let this hotel down mainly. January 12, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Staff courtesy and organisation I booked this room as an additional room to our group booking that we had for 6 other families over new year. We tried to add another member (my dad) to our group Hogmanay and first foot booking and your events booking department was extremely unhelpful which I why I booked this additional room myself. Our time as a group leading upto the event experienced many problems and found Michelle to be very unhelpful and that she did not have a telephone manner I would expect to find from a hotel of your standard. We had many problems arise that could have been quickly rectified with good customer service and good communication skills which sadly this department seemed to lack. We did however have a nice time while we were away and found the staff in the hotel to be very helpful and polite. The only other feedback I would like to offer is that your family party nights would have been veered had it been in a room where you could have had a party atmosphere an snot just in the hotel foyer. I hope these comments help improve your service as I was really disappointed in the numerous events leading upto our break. January 5, 2014

Breakfast was good and fresh, but I ordered pancakes and after 20 minutes had to check if my order had been passed to the kitchen. They were then delived in a few minutes but were nearly cold, think they had forgotten about them, had to ask for maple syrup. January 4, 2014

Only disappointment was that when we made our booking I mentioned to reservations that it was our sons birthday and if they could do anything to make it extra special - nothing. Apart from that, our room was lovely and spacious and had a great view. Staff were helpful with any questions and the food in the hotel was great. Hotel is in a great location if you like going out and about. Transport museum just up the road, walked to the kelvingrove and also went for a walk into 'town'. Would definitely recommend as a place to stay. January 4, 2014

Our room was spotless and had amazing views down the Clyde. The spa was great too. An excellent hotel which I would heartily recommend. I will definitely be back. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Anniversary Both me an my partner in our early 20s , i had looked at previous reviews that this particular hotel didn't make younger couples welcome this was not the case at our stay . We wouldn't normally go to such a fancy hotel as we are tattooed an have piercings an young not your average looking couple but it was a special occasion. as soon as we arrived at the hotel we paid an checked in we were made to feel welcome by reception, we explained we had come to Glasgow for our anniversary and we planned to go out for a meal they gave us some ideas. Afterwards we went to the 15 floor to our room which included the club lounge . We got ready for our meal but first went to the club lounge for a a glass of wine and beer . It was lovely an comfortable , wine was a bit bitter but it was drinkable .we left at half past 7 for our meal . We came back to the hotel around half past ten , we decided to go to the hotel bar for a few drinks it wasn't very busy so no atmosphere but for me it was nice to relax the bar closed at 12 an we went back to the hotel room , the bed was fantastic a huge king size bed we slept like babies and missed breakfast . Once we got up we checked out an paid for our parking and went for coffee in the hotel . The coffee was lovely and the staff were very nice . Overall our stay was great and we will be coming to stay again an haven't stopped talking about it. The staff were 5* the room and bed was 5* the coffee 5* the hole experience for us was delightful and enjoyable . January 2, 2014
