Always a great stay

March 30, 2015

We have stayed at this hotel multiple times in the past year. After the first time we stayed here, it became our "go to " hotel in the area. The front desk staff are great. They always make us feel special. The view is fantastic. My only complaint would be with the service in the restaurant. The variety and taste of the food are very good, but the service always seems to be very slow and the wait staff not particularly attentive. Sitting on the deck, with the amazing view of the beach, makes the wait easier to take. All in all, a great hotel.

Great Suite Clean Comfortable and Cool

March 30, 2015

The suite we had was awesome. The price was great for that room. The bed was very comfortable, the room always cool in temperature. We had a two room suite each room with access to balcony. I did not see all other rooms but the ones next to us seemed small maybe because they were next to suites. The others seemed to be of normal size. The beach was great. The beach attendant was awesome. For a small fee he will set you up with lounge chairs, towels, food and drink. The inside bar/restaurant leaves a little to be desired but the outside tables/couches with umbrellas were very inviting and comfortable--everyone always seemed to be having a good time. Front desk check-in was very nice/friendly/helpful. I would definitely stay again-we plan on it.

Service Left Something to be Desired

March 29, 2015

I was a member of a wedding party. From the first night I arrived until the day I left the service lacked professionalism. The bride of the group and her friends were sitting on the couches on the patio. Without a warning, one of the waitresses or staff from the restaurant came over and told us we needed to leave the premises or else she would have us removed by security. Instead of politely explaining we couldn't have outside alcohol in that area we were met with "removed from the premises by security"? It didn't stop there: We moved over to the gazebo area where the wedding party and family talked (quietly I might add) in groups. The bride's parents' room was right there so we all just congregated outside their room. Probably 5-10 minutes later, security rushes over like he's about to do something and tells us we all have to disperse and go to our rooms, that there were complaints of noise (which, had they looked around, there was a group on the second floor of the second building that were louder than us because I remember being able to HEAR them down on the patio, even over the sounds of the crashing waves). No one in our group was loud. No one was obnoxiously drunk (or even a little bit tipsy). So again, we were forced to leave an area. Next, the morning of the wedding, a manager and the wedding photographer had talked and made an agreement to use one of the suites overlooking the ocean. While the bride was dressing, the photographer sent the bridesmaids into the suite. Maybe minutes later, the manager stormed in and asked if we were taking pictures, we said no the bride was still getting dressed. The manager proceeded to grab all our bouquets and told us we had to leave because she it was only going to be used for pictures. I can understand her frustration HOWEVER, clearly we did NOT know about their arrangement and she needed to discuss that with the photographer, not us. She was very rude and indignant and made some of the bridesmaids very uncomfortable. It was unnecessary. Luckily the ceremony was beautiful, as was the reception. Also, I understand the restaurant can be busy, but I called room service and was transferred at least 10 times, once to reservations (which sounds NOTHING like room service). There were two times someone picked up and before I could even say Is this room service, I was put on hold and transferred. It was very frustrating. The grounds of the hotel were gorgeous and everything else seemed to go smoothly for others, it just seems the service is very much in need of more training. For how much the bride's and groom's families spent on this wedding, the service should have been a hundred thousand times better for them.
