We have been visiting Crown Plaza Terrigal for over 20 years and it is a beautiful spot to have a short or long break.
Friendly staff and service but my only concern is the restaurant does only fine dining which is not always convenient with children and may not fit into the budget - also disappointing is the casual restaurant downstairs does not accept the priority privelage card for dining any longer.
Excellent service from Damian Denise and Michelle at reception - thank you!

Hotel is old and needs updating. Service was very average - we constantly heard staff tell us how busy they were (we went on a Friday after ANZAC day). We had room service breakfast and mushrooms had a strong sour-ish taste, sausages were sad and cold. Views were okay. Sound-proofing the rooms more would be good - next door was a family with young children, enough said.
Host at Seasalt Restaurant was very professional but the rest of his team definitely did not apply the same standard and level of professionalism. In fact, we saw staff sharing cigarettes in full view in the middle of dinner (may want to be more discreet in future). Staff throwing words like "So busy", "so slammed", "hectic" was not what we wanted to hear on our get-away holiday. Food definitely not worth its price tag.
Overall, mediocre.

Loved it :)
P.S When you open the door of your hotel room, you are meant to have that moment of stopping, and both you and the company you are with literally go, "oh my gosh", thats exactly what we had when we did just that :)
I am very jealous of the staff who get to work in such an amazing looking place! But then again i would be too distracted all the time of just how amazing it looks, breathtaking!
Buffet was a little bit too expensive for me, but im tiny and dont eat much so it is most certainly worthly for someone for a healthy appetite!

My stay at this property last weekend was superb. I was assigned a spa suite which was spotlessly clean, spacious and very modern.
Check-in was a breeze and the service as always was great- all requests were actioned quickly and with a smile.
Thanks again CP Terrigal for another enjoyable stay!

We had been given a breakfast gift voucher, so we decided to book a room at the hotel and use the voucher in the morning.
We booked a King room through the hotel's website. On arrival we were upgraded to a room with a view to the sea. We found the room very spacious and very well furnished.
The staff were extremely friendly and the breakfast at the Seasalt restaurant excellent.
All in all, a very pleasant stay in Terrigal

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by CandR Won't stay here again, shame - great location
The reservation service is off-shore and unsatisfactory. There is an option to provide feedback on the reservation service but only if your feedback is in accordance with the options as it's an automated survey and not a real person who is interested and listening to what you are saying. So the feedback is contrived and I ended up hanging up on it. When we arrived on Sunday in a very tired state, the person at reception advised us that our room was above the pool and the pool closed at 21:00 as we were concerned with noise from the pool area. What they didn't mention was that the pub (either on site or right next door) will play unbelievably obnoxiously offensively loud music until around 23:00 and then there will be loud intoxicated people hanging around until well after. If you are looking for a great location then the Crowne Plaza Terrigal has it. If you are in need of a restful nights sleep and a relaxing stay - look somewhere else!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Rayau Great service, accommodation and facilities
Our most recent visit was as a Priority Privilege member with two other couples in three seventh floor ocean front rooms. At the reception desk, Denise was brilliant for our stay - warmly welcoming and making sure our needs were met. This made up for some ordinary experiences in previous stays. The king beds were above average and the ocean views pretty spectacular. Rooms are spacious enough. It'll be even better when in-room Wi-Fi becomes free next year. The heated pool is still excellent, along with the spa, sauna, steam room, spin centre and gym. Maybe some of the internal furnishings look a bit tired but the overall impression is good, especially for a beachside hotel. Breakfasts are better than most Australian hotels and the espresso coffee is included (very unusual). The restaurant, although moderately expensive, is fairly high standard and we enjoyed our dinner there. The hotel is close to Terrigal shops - the boutiques haven't all closed yet - and local nightclub and across the road from the beach. We watch for special hotel deals to make stays less painful on the pocket.

Room was good with a lovely view. Staff at Crown Plaza hotels are always terrific. Dinner in the restaurant was great value as it was the Sunday to Thursday special. But breakfast in the same restaurant next morning was very disappointing for aCrown Plaza hotel. Overall I would definitely stay there again but maybe go elsewhere for breakfast.

The Hotel is set overlooking Terrigal Beach. The restaurant and bar areas take in the sand and water framed by the Norfolk Pines. The balconies probably need some revamping with glass panels. The decor has the ubiquitous mocca colouring but the beds are comfortable and the bathroom larger than most Crowne Plaza Hotels. Staff are friendly but a 3:00pm check in is a bit late so stay at least two nights.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by ALPO The devil is in the detail
We booked on Good Friday evening...computer problems (not on any other site) so I phoned a helpful young woman in the Philippines, I suspect, who tried to help, but I explained I liked to read what I was getting. Minutes later a booking confirmation arrived by email (1 night...we wanted 2) so I phoned the hotel again, this time requesting to speak to the operator who was very helpful and we made a booking for a king room, with balcony and ocean views and b/fst.
When we arrived this Monday we were offered an upgrade to a suite, for an extra $75 per night, which we took. The rooms were great: large and with wonderful views.
But there were a number of little problems which I didn't expect when we were paying over $300 a night!
The housekeeping was just not up to scratch. The rooms were clean, but there were scuff marks on two walls, one wall had been "cleaned" but there was a large area of circular marks which indicated the poor standard of the cleaning. The carpet in the main room looked as if it may not have been vacuumed or only very quickly on our second day. I had spilled some talc on the bathroom floor after my morning shower, but it had not been mopped away. Perhaps it had been dry mopped, but it needed more. There was a large cobweb on the light fitting above the partition which was there the entire time...not good for my arachnophobic hubbie. A sticky mark left by a glass of lemonade on the side table by the lounge was not washed at all...I did that after the room had been “done” by housekeeping. The mugs, which did not match (in a suite!!!), were not properly washed...still had stains. Housekeeping should use detergent. I assume the mugs were rinsed in the bathroom, but I had already done this. The dining table was not steady. Coffee and tea were not replaced on the second day, luckily we had brought our own, but, once again, at this price, I expected more... perhaps a coffee plunger, which is common in many hotels.
The bed was also a concern. It was king sized and comfortable, as beds in previous Crowne Plaza Hotels had been, but the mattress protector was way too small...perhaps designed to be used on a Queen bed, and the bottom sheets were too small, just being tucked in on both sides. They came adrift over night both nights, causing some discomfort. The second day when the bed had been made, I checked and no attempt had been made to tuck in the sheets. The shower head was stuck so my tall husband had an uncomfortable first shower, though this was fixed that day, after I spoke to the duty manager. The ironing board could not be stood up, so I finished up ironing on it resting on the bed! A spare roll of loo paper was left on the floor!
Finally, on the first morning, my breakfast order was apparently lost and after waiting patiently for quite a while, I had to make a second request.
Each of these things is relatively minor, but there are too many of them, especially when this was apparently one of the best rooms you had to offer, and given both the price of the room and the reputation of the chain.
Terrigal prides itself on being laid back, but clients have expectations which need to be met if they are to return. Oh, and the spa, which is great, was closed for cleaning the day we left, which was very disappointing, as this is one of the main attractions of the hotel for me. I have a number of photos to show these problems which I will email on request.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Yeo22 Warm service and comfortable room
I was on a business trip and stayed at the Crowne Plaza Terrigal for around 4 weeks. The staff were friendly which makes me felt very welcomed. The room is spacious and comfortable; the interior of the room is simple and basic amenities are available. Good enough for my almost one month stay. The hotel is located along the beach which boasts awesome sea view and great for sea sports or a jog along the beach. Nice place to chill out during the weekend.

Hi
My girl friend and I had a lovely girls weekend at the Crowne Plaza Terrigal. Our room was beautiful, the beds so incredibly comfortable. Beautiful large bathroom. Had a swim in the pool which was warm and so lovely. Have wanted to stay at this hotel for many years and it was worth the wait. We will definitely return again for another weekend. Had a lovely time in the shops. Wish we had known, it is too late to go out for dinner at 7.30pm without a booking. Would be nice if you could book the room with breakfast and parking included.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 Love the location but some negatives
I chose this hotel because of the location and also that it was a non-smoking hotel.
Check in was a breeze, we arrived early but were able to go straight to our room. The staff were friendly and informative.
The rooms were lovely, clean, roomy with a large bathroom, balcony and bar fridge. We had a pool and ocean view room which was perfect for us.
The breakfast was really good, with a made to order omelette bar, loads to choose from, eggs anyway, hash browns, tomatoes, bacon, mushrooms, baked beans, pancakes, fresh fruits, fresh juices, muffins etc.
We also had several spa treatments and they were great, I recommend the foot massage, it was heavenly.
The pool was relaxing, warm and there was also a hot tub. You can order food and drinks to have by the pool we spent many hours there relaxing.
We had an issue with extremely loud maintenance taking place without being informed. I called reception and they were great moving us straight away to another room.
The negatives:
The hotel states it is a completely non-smoking hotel, they do not follow through with this and there were 4 separate rooms that were out on the balconies smoking, we could not enjoy being on our balcony as the smoke was wafting onto us and also into our room. I am an asthmatic so it really spoiled our break. We complained each time to reception and felt it wasnt taken seriously. There should be stricter policy and alot more signage stating no smoking or just dont pretend your non-smoking.
The $18 a day parking is ridiculous , you can park behind the hotel for free if you dont mind a little walk.
The pillows are horrible, the Plaza needs to replace them or offer a pillow menu.
For safety there needs to be a handle to get in and out of the shower as the shower is over a deep bath.
The hot tub also needs a bit more support to get in and out of as it has a very steep step in.

We had been given a lovely room on the 6th floor but my 13 year old son has a lift phobia (which I had forgotten about!). A staff member escorted him up the stairs but could sense he was a little nervous about the dark etc. As such, she immediately offered to swap us to a lower floor and within minutes we were in a bigger room, with a lovely view. They were very understanding and supportive and as such made our stay very comfortable

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Anne23 Some of the friendliest staff and most gorgeous location in Australia
I travel for work each week so am always trying out different hotels in Australia. I can honestly say the staff at the Crowne Plaza Terrigal were some of the friendliest and most professional I have had the pleasure of dealing with.
The room service meal I ordered for dinner was good value, tasty and promptly delivered. The beds were super comfortable.
The gym facilities were terrific for a hotel.
Finally, being able to open my balcony doors and have the sound of the waves and the sea breeze was a very welcome change from the normal closed up, stuffy hotels!
Thanks for a great stay and hope to be back again soon.

As soon as we arrived and were greeted at desk the staff looked happy even with a group check-in. Unfortunately, no-one came out to greet the bus and help with baggage and up to the room either.
I had room 510 clean and tidy, I slept better the second night when I found other pillows in robe that were more suitable.
The view over pool and beach was breathtaking.
Breakfast fabulous and in dining area happy faces everywhere.
I did not receive a paper at my door seeing as I am Priority club member I thought automatically would get one. Nothing to acknowledge I was a member at all.
Great shopping in area underneath.

We visit the Hotel every year, as we enjoy being so close to the beach. We can not find fault with this property. On our last visit three weeks ago, we had a bad experience in the restaurant.
We ordered 0ne dozen oysters, the waiter advised the Pacific oysters are not available but can serve Sydney rock oysters.
Fine we said, the 14 oysters that were served should not have left the kitchen, not only they were small, they lacked taste and were the worst oysters I have ever tasted. We felt for a 5 star Hotel to serve the oysters it was not acceptable. The Chef did care.
As a result that was our only meal in the Hotel.
