Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Cleanliness is topnotch but traffic noise noticeable Love the look of the room as very modern. Very clean room & bathroom. But hotel is beside the highway so noise is noticeable if you are in a room beside the highway. Pool is clean but the stair pool is slippery, i slipped when i stepped on it. Ample supply of towels is a good thing too. Hotel is about 10 mins to the beachfront and very near to shops at the city center, that was nice. Overall, will recommend this hotel! September 4, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bad service and poor quality... I had a bad experience with this hotel... First my reservation was given to somebody else, and not hold as requested. The room provided had a air conditioner leak and wet carpet around it . Breakfast charged aditional only for two people even we were three two children and an adult. Breakfast denied Monday at 10:00 am stating it was over, the employee at the desk told us it is as late as 11:00 am. I will never ever use your hotel or associates hotels ever. August 29, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Check In The gentleman that checked us in was fabulous. I made reservations to celebrate my 12 year old daughter's birthday at the beach. The customer service representative took the initiative to congratulate her on becoming one year older. We slept in a very quiet and comfortable room. I especially liked the sounds coming from the clock. The following day was not so good. We went to the laundry room to wash our clothes before going home (3-4 hour drive) only to find employee clothes over the shower door, in a hamper, and in the dryer. We went to the gym and the water cooler was empty. One of the employees asked a lady at the front desk to replenish the tank, to which she responded by saying basically that it was not her job. As a courtesy, I requested a bottle of water for me and my daughter. The woman at the front desk said I could buy a bottle, then she went and brought me a cup of water in a paper cup. The pool opened at 7am. We swam and exercised for 30 minutes, got out to finish our clothes and returned at 7:45am, and the pool was locked for maintenance. I thought it was to clean up all of the dirty towels and orange slice by the pool. After about 40 minutes the pool area was reopened and it was just as unkempt as it was at 7am. In spite of our checkout date, we had a good nights sleep and the pool felt great. I chose this hotel because it was close to the beach, had an indoor heated pool, and a laundry facility. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Dirty Room and Apathetic Staff Walked into a room that had stains on the comforter. Found used bandaids on the floor and the room was all around unclean. The worst part about our experience was the walls are paper thin. We asked to be in a quieter room and the first night were woken up by noisy guests at 1am. Management would not move us to the 'quiet floor' because we had a baby with us. Ironically it was the baby who was being woken up by others. If you have stayed at Crown Plaza in other cities, you know it's a nice hotel. This one seems to be stuck in the late 80's and needs a serious update. On the plus side, it is one of the least expensive hotels in the area. I would not recommend this hotel for a family vacation nor anything longer than one night. August 26, 2013

The place was quiet and comfortable and the staff served us with professionalism and courtesy. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor customer service along with an attitude! It only takes one thing to make a stay at a hotel terrible but when the staff is rude and disrespectful there is no excuses. A male employee name that started with a B, had to have the worst customer service skills that I have ever seen. When people come from out of town there are gonna be credit card or debit card problems due to identity theft. Doesn't mean you have to be rude and talk loud to a customer. People spent $600+ for the weekend so some banks will freeze your card. August 19, 2013

The front desk check-in was quick/easy, the room is modern and our housekeeping staff was very friendly. We have been coming to VA beach approximately 12-years, since our kids were small and are now empty nesters. We have stayed beach front several times. We now stay based on a fair price and nearby restaurants and shopping centers. Crown plaza is 10-minutes from ocean front, all restaurants are nearby and the hotel has free parking. Why pay $250.00 -325.00 per night at an ocean front hotel when you can save $100.00 to 175.00 per night in a quiet hotel near all of the restaurants and shopping centers. August 18, 2013

Front desk nice and friendly. VERY GOOD LOCATION!! Minutes away from main attractions. Would highly recommend staying at this Hotel!!!!!!!! Cons: Very minor issues: No dressing mirror. Only mirror in the room was in the bathroom. Never was able to experience the Hotel's provided "Happy Hour." Never any refreshments!!!! Regardless of what time you arrive for it!!!!! Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Horrible Internet and Booked Room Not Available Normally I don't rate anything, but I feel like I have to so other businessmen don't have the same problems. First problem I had was checking in. I went to the counter and they told me they had no rooms available for what I had booked (A king size bed) . They tried to stick me in their standard room with two beds. At first I had no problem until I went into the room and realized it was two full size beds. I am 6'3"...Full size doesn't cut it. Who has full size beds anymore in a hotel room? Queen is usually the minimum standard. I went back to the front desk and asked again. They put me in a handicapped room with a king size bed. It was slightly different than what I was familiar with, but everything was there. Now I have a room...yay!!! or not. Alright, time to log in to the internet and go to work...or maybe not. It took forever to get to the login screen. I logged in and tried to check my facebook. Wow that was an overly extensive wait. I then tried my personal laptop(less security and firewalls) It took almost as long. The front desk gave me tech supports number. I called them. They reset their servers and had me run a speed check. My work computer failed and couldn't get a readout. My personal came back with .18mbs don't miss the point in front of the 18. I asked is their anything they could do...short answer no. They said they had 21 people on the network and that was what was slowing it down. This is a hotel right? So 21 people cripple a network? Evidently you aren't properly equipped. I had to use my cell phone to do the majority of my business. I tried downloading files with the hotels internet, but a 280kb file took 2.5 min to download. I think my old 2400baud modem was faster.(obsolete somewhere around 20 years ago). AC units are the under window style. Normally not a problem, but they sound like a freight train when running. You go from a level of 16 on the TV to a level of 45 when it turns on. Bathroom had many areas of grout missing in the shower. Half of it covered by a bad caulk job. This place is a dump. And for the price I paid...never again. A cheap motel would have probably been better at 1/4 the price. The rooms were cleaned every day, but I never knew if I was going to get all of my towels back, or 1, or none. August 1, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Miscommunication and "lip service" I had reserved 3 rooms and when our party arrived there were only 2 rooms available. My nephew and his family had to drive 50 miles and sleep on a friends floor for the night. When the staff was made aware and admitted that they had made a mistake they made very little effort to pay for their mistake. I was given some points on my card for the inconvenience which I feel was not very much of a compensation for all of the problems that they caused my family. July 19, 2013

I am always greeted when I check in and am recognized as a priority club member no matter what time I arrive. The people are warm and friendly. The buffet is one of the best and since the renovations are complete the rooms are comfortable and the hotel lounge and restaurant are very nice.
