Tried to book on Wotif but problem with their page. Rang the hotel and the reservations line kept cutting me off. Rang thru to reception instead just to try and get a person to answer the phone - told they were too busy to answer my query/do me a booking and put me thru to central reservations. This lady courteous but unable to offer me room rate equivalent to Wotif OR offer complimentary breakfast etc to encourage us to stay for inflated price. Only continued with booking as my husband was taking part in a course at the hotel the next day (another reason I would have thought some sort of incentive might have been offered). I made booking in my husband's name under Mr and Mrs - at check in we arrived separately, myself arriving first. The check-in lady made it very clear she was not happy to go ahead and book me in as I was not the need person on the reservation - it was down to me to offer our credit card - receptionist did not ask for any ID etc but I was not made to feel welcome at all.
The bar meals were over priced for what came out on the plates and breakfast at $26 was ridiculous. The one saving grace was the check-out receptionist who heard my story and refunded me $20 (for 2 x $10 breakfasts). My experience with Holiday Inn was appalling and I would not recommend it to others or stay there again by choice

It always feels like coming home when our conferences are at the Holiday Inn! I have been staying here privately and within a professional capacity for over ten years so I have seen the transition from a ravaged duckling into an elegant, beautiful swan. (Thanks to the refurbishment.)
The Holiday Inn is small enough for the staff to remember you, it's great walking in seeing familiar faces who are genuinely pleased to see you.
Thank you for catering to my narrow dietary requirements. I never feel embarrassed or humiliated. I feel like a valued customer who is important and deserves to have an enjoyable meal too.
It's a great, big satisfied customer here!!

This is a fine Holiday Inn near the airport. they have a shuttle service for $6.50. they charge for Wi-Fi. It is in the middle of no where --- you can walk to only a pizza place.

I was made to wait in the lobby for two hours. The reason being.. the rooms was not ready. When I approached the Manager, he told me that housekeeping may take longer to get the rooms ready. I left to visit the city and came back at 2 PM and was told the rooms were not ready but after a wait of 15 minutes, I was given a room that smelled of cigarette smoke which I promptly pointed out to the Manager who helped me move into another room.
I think there is a better way to handle this. They should have given an available room right away and then maybe move me later to another room. I was very tired because of an long overseas flight into Auckland.
The staff are good people. It is just the communication was not good or the management of housekeeping was not good. I have also noticed that there was a tremendous number of guests checking out at the same time. The staff all of them were busy. I would have done it differently.

Staff are always important to me...and the staff here are just so lovely and helpful.
The meals are really good, the luncheon buffet was really good.
The hotel is well located, very close to the airport, but there is no aircraft noise at all.
Really recommend for one or two nights
