Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Uncomfortable Stay Not a great nights' sleep unfortunately! Pillows (despite different hardnesses) dreadful, lumpy, and bed very uncomfortable. Resulted in a bad back the next day! Room very sterile, with some hideous colour schemes and poor finishing - if they are re-furbing, why not fill in the holes and cracks at the same time?! Very sterile, cold feeling room, but as to be expected from a large chain hotel. Bathroom ok, new suite fitted, although tough door to close. Shower good, but only as I'm only 5'6", any taller and you wouldn't have got the shower head high enough for a decent shower!!! Should have plugs both sides of king bed for phone chargers. Noisy room due to location next to air conditioning outlets - definitely not a nice view! Also Christmas party noise leaking into room did prevent some rest! However, got for a reasonable price for a Friday night in Brighton. I would have been more miffed had I paid any more! December 17, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Fair to Good Hotel was clean. A bit run down. Older furniture in poor shape. Bed old and non-fitted sheets did not stay on the bed properly. Hotel was under renovation so I am certain this will be rectified. Room Service was fast and good, with coffee being the only exception. Internet was connection was stable but a bit slow at times. Ironing board in poor condition. I would stay here again. December 16, 2014

I have been staying here for the past few weeks on business and I would highly reccomend this hotel to all my friends and family. The staff are welcoming and friendly! It's the little things that count to me... The staff say good morning every day, The car park underground means i dont have to ice my car in the morning. Ideal location, especially for shopping this Christmas its only a 5 minute walk to city centre. The sea view is stunning. The shower is very powerful and most importantly clean. The rooms are spacious and modern due to recent refurb. The front desk staff are also up to speed with recognition of IHG customers. Just overall a great experience each visit. December 16, 2014

Disappointing range of drinks at the bar (e.g. the Flowers bitter had run out and there were no bottled bitters as an alternative), and the price of a pint of Murphy's stout was at London prices - so go to a local pub instead! Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Undergoing refurbishment Ihg is usually my first choice of any hotel chain, this hotel needs serious attention. It is currently undergoing refurbishment which is badly needed gut great for the future, the workmen onsite are extremely noisy up til early evening My issues are little to do with refurbishment but staff and environment. The walls are so thin I could beat the people next door using the toilet, coughing and hear them talking clearly. Are you adding wall insulation in the refurbishment? I was upgraded to a room with a sea view, it was so noisy from the sea that I hardly slept, and could see the curtains moving with the wind. I contacted room service for an evening meal and waited 18 minutes then gave up and phoned reception who took my order Both mornings I had to wait up to 15 minutes firstly to organise a taxi and secondly to check out which was not a great start for the day. Because of the queue behind me I wasn't really in a position to discuss this at check out without further delaying everyone else Overall extremely unhappy December 15, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Misleading room advertising Booked a King Size bed, was given two singles pushed together. Had hardly any sleep on first night, have to say though that when I brought this to the attention of the front desk they dealt with it very quickly and efficiently. They moved me to an appropriate room for my second night and offered me a choice of compensation. The bar was very poorly stocked in terms of choice. I like my whisky, was very surprised to find 4 or 5 American efforts but only 1 Scottish whisky on display. Breakfast was decent, plenty of choice and lots of fresh options. December 12, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable Stay and Very Friendly helpful staff Enjoyed my stay here at the Holiday Inn. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Their service was efficient but there just wasn't enough of them on in certain areas at peak times. I would recommend staying here as a good location for good value. December 9, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great service from all staff and good atmosphere throughout the hotel After booking this hotel I spoke to two people who had stayed there before. Both highly recommended it paying particular reference to the friendliness of the staff. My wife and I were not disappointed, Brighton is a great place to visit and the Holiday Inn on the seafront is the perfect hotel to stay in. We shall do it again next year! December 8, 2014
