Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 Great location for visiting old Charleston This location was cheaper than staying in the Old Charleston area but less than 5 minute drive. Easy drive to plantations. The negative issue with this hotel was one of the two elevators was not operating much of our stay. With 15 floors the wait was not acceptable especially at check-in and out times. The heating/air conditioning unit needs to be replaced! It was not easy to operate but most significantly it was VERY NOISY! It was difficult to hear the TV and hard to sleep due to continuous noise which sounded like a clothes drier with rocks in it. I have been a Priority Club member since 1983 (32 yrs) but when checking in the party ahead of us received a small package for some special deal they must have received when booking but we had to ask why we did not get one for being Priority or Rewards members. We were given a package then also but with the amount of business I have given IHG with my loyalty for 32 years I should have been given recognition in some way. The HI Expresses we stayed at during this trip had my name on a placard in the lobby. It is not that I expect special treatment every time I stay, however, since I am a charter member of Priority Club some value should be offered. April 15, 2015

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst Hotel Ever! We stayed here for two days of intensive wedding planning in Charleston. This was likely my last trip with our daughter prior to her wedding. We were initially assigned a room on the 10th floor with a view of the highway and Waffle House. We lugged all of our stuff up to the room, only to find that the carpet outside the bathroom was soaking wet and the room smelled horribly. The front desk was not apologetic or even very concerned. They reassigned us to a 2nd floor room that had a view of a solid blank concrete wall a few feet outside of the window. Worse yet, it was directly beneath the treadmills in the exercise room, which opens at 5:30 am! It sounded like a herd of stampeding elephants in our room!! Aside from the issues with our rooms, the pool was closed (no mention of this when I made the reservation), and the restaurant was closed the first night we stayed. What made the hotel a complete disaster was the impossibly dangerous left turn towards town. An AWFUL experience!! April 13, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by No privacy and very over priced We recently stayed on the 8 th floor and we're very disappointed on our stay. The spot lights on the outside of the building are pointed up all around the hotel and are so bright that even with the curtains closed it still looks like daylight all night long. The biggest problem would be the paper thin walls! You can easily hear the TV in one room and I actually felt like I had the other rooms guest sleeping on my pillow. I could hear them breathing all night long! Not snoring, just deep breathing! Wow. For the prices they're getting it should be much better. One day the entire restaurant was not available. The place is certainly in need of a remodel too. We also had no coffee one morning and the next coffee but no cups! Another issue is we couldn't get room service to bring up clean towels. 3 tries later and one hour waits we finally got them All in all we will not be back! April 13, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Suite 1405 The room had a spectacular view of Charleston and the river. It was very spacious and everything worked properly. I slept on the King bed and the side closest to the window had a large sunk in area. I was able to sleep ok but felt like I was curled up in a ball! Not sure if this mattress can be flipped but if it can be that should be a priority. My kids slept on the sofa bed and like most sofa beds the mattress is too thin. Maybe an extra sofa bed mattress could be brought in by request and that would make the sheets fit better and the bed more comfortable? Overall I would stay again due to the close proximity to Folly Beach and downtown Charleston. The staff was very friendly and welcoming as well! April 12, 2015

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Just fell short My husband and I were not impressed. We usually enjoy our Holiday Inn stays, but this one just fell short. The front dest greeting was wonderful! They recognized our Platinum status and were very accommodating, but after that things were mediocre. The shower drained poorly, the lighting was dim, the room could use updating, and we couldn't access the balcony. The breakfast buffet was not worth the money at all, and my first two coffee cups were dirty with old lipstick (gross!). The staff that morning were short and we felt rushed. Overall, it was just an "ok" stay. Not sure if I'll book this one again, but I'll still book Holiday Inn in the future, because I have had good experiences with them in the past. April 9, 2015
