I wish I had written down all of the names of the frontdesk staff that greeted me and my 18-month old twins so welcomingly. I genuinely felt that they were all happy to see us, and they couldn't have been more accommodating. One helped with my luggage, one helped with my double stroller, etc. All smiling the entire time.
I do remember Crystal's name though!!! Crystal took such good care of us in the restaurant and played with my girls as if they were her own. Crystal ensured we had milk for bedtime bottles and kid-friendly dinner items. She is warm, helpful, and so darn friendly. I even took a picture of Crystal with my girls after dinner.
I highly recommend this Holiday Inn. While the property is clean and lovely and convenient, it's the staff that puts this one right at the top. :-)

Convenient location - friendly staff (but could not find anyone to serve me breakfast at 8:55am !!)
Coffee, condiments & lids in room, but no cups !! (Reception did provide immediately on request, but who wants to wander the lobby in their PJs at 6am ??)
Ask to be roomed as far away from elevator and ice/vending machines as possible - the noise reverberates through door frames & walls...

I understand the need for a credit card for additional charges. I even understand putting a small charge on the card to ensure it's authentic and able to accept charges. But why was it necessary to put four separate charges on my card over the course of three days?
The bar and restaurant were good. The two bartenders were attentive and great. The waitress in the morning was cheerful and efficient too.
All in all a good stay, with nice staff and a decent room.

We spent one night here, and left the next morning for our home in Southern California. It was a pleasant night and comfortable. The Shuttle was on the spot and pleasant. This will be on our list at the top when we return to Charlotte. A great city.

I had the unfortunate experience to stay at this property due to a large convention in the area and all the Holiday Inn Express properties were booked. Checked in and the room was handicapped access. Not a major issue but we did not need this type of room. Then after using the bathroom, I leanred that the toilet was broken. I called the front desk and was put on hold. I took matters into my own hands, flushed the toilet manually and went down the front desk. Along the way, I spotted a maintainance worker and directed him to the room and the issue which he reported to and worked on promptly according to my wife who waited in the room. I waited on the line at the front desk for close to 10 minutes and then was able to talk to the night manager who didnt seem too surprized that the room was in dis repair. He agreed with my suggestion that my room should be moved and comped for the night since I had to stick my hands into the tank and get dirty and wet. He also told us that our rewards card would be credited with additonal points due to the nature of the problem. To this date, after talking to 3 seperate people at the property and on the 800 number those points have not materialized. I am by far not a power customer for the chain, but I do stay at various properties at least 5 to 10 nights a year. In my opinion, this property could have done a bit better. Only good in a pinch and since it's near the airport. Expect lots of foot traffic from airline employees coming and going at all hours of the night and usually in high speed.

Glad to see new owners in this place. No hot water for 4 days. Executive club closed half the time. Finally the washer & dryer were replaced. Did not risk trying the pool. Staff was friendly but not effective in getting problems fixed.
