Of course this property is right near the airport but on the 4th floor the noise was quite loud. The heater did not work - thermostat dial was broken and in general the room was not clean. There were some stains on the carpet and smeared something on the night stand.
The receptionist that checked us in was a bit overwhelmed and not the most accomdating.

I have stayed at this hotel dozens of times and they have always been genuinely interested in my comfort and satisfaction. Any times there have been problems with the room, they have been addressed immediately and with graciousness. The restaurant staff always remember me and call me by name. It is so nice to have a safe and welcoming "home away from home" for someone who travels a lot. Thanks for making my stays as "low stress" as business trips can be!

I stay mainly at IHG properties and almost always HI X's. But when flying out of Charlotte i always stay here. Within 5 mins of the airport.
Great friendly staff. The food at the restaurant was very good. I recommend the meatloaf.
Hope to be passing through there again soon.

As stated above, the hotel staff is extraordinary. My check in and check out experience was delightful. The personnel were so gracious and appreciative of my business. That is the first thing that I look for in a hotel. Loved my stay and will definitely be back.

Upon arrival check in I was given my room key and told that my room was down the other end of the building on the 3rd floor. I parked at the end of the building and draged my tool box suitcase and back pack to the third floor only to fine out that the room was at the oposite end of the hall, near the front desk... more draging gear. After reaching my room the key did not work and I had to drag my gear down to the front desk to get it fixed, then drag everything back to the room. Room was dark (and dated) and the light switch at the door did nothing. I turned the bathroom light on and found the faucet running and had to force it to turn off. I was all set to get a shower after working 12 hours and a 3.75 hr flight delay , only to realize that there were NO towels or wash cloths. I called the front desk and towels were brought to my room. I found a dirty toilet and dusty lights over the sink in the bathroom while standing in water waiting for the tub and sink to drain- very slow. TV was great while eating my diner, but there was no trash can at the desk so I had to keep getting up to use the trash can in the bathroom. I found out the next day after my room key faied to work -again, that Platinum members get a free room upgrade and access to a lounge- never told this at check in. I will never stay at this location again! Not what I expect form Holiday Inn.

I found this place to be disgusting. The room was bad, chipped tiling, noisy heater, burn marks on lampshade, and the bed was obvioulsy old and uncomfortable. Everything was out of date. The Priority Club lounge was unmanned, with cold food when it should be hot. The breakfast was a joke. The bar was bad, and so was the bartender (whoe is looking for a job) The staff thought they were in a nice hotel because they have obviously never been in a nice hotel. the place was diry looking.

I stayed here on my second visit to Charlotte on business and I was glad that this was the venue I had chosen.
The staff was friendly and helpful and the proximity to the airport and surrounding area made it ideal.
It was also helpful that room service was available and there is an eatery on the premises.
It was clean and everything worked, but my room did not have a refrigerator and I could tell that it's an older property because of the availablity and placement of electrical outlets, etc.
However, I would absolutely return!

I have stayed numerous times at this hotel and each time the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The comfort in the room is outstanding, clean and very adaquate for all my needs. THe fitness center is a great plus and the business lounges food very appetizing.

I was surprised by the spaciousness and comfort of our room. It absolutely felt like a home away from home. The staff was extra friendly and very responsive to our needs. I am definitely coming back. Bravo!

I was really disappointed with my stay here. Worst experience I have ever had at any Holiday Inn in the past 8 years of travel.
I first showed up around 7:00pm and there was a line of people waiting to check in and there was only 1 person working the desk.
I got checked in and walked to the end of the building only to find that my room key didn't work. So I walked back to the desk and had to wait again because there was only 1 person working the desk. She re-activated my room key then I walked back to my room and tried to get in and the light turned green but when I pushed down on the handle the door wouldn't open. I tried several times and then walked back to the desk again. The woman at the desk called maintenance and they both went to the room to check it. She then came back and told me that I was one of the few ones that had a room where you have to pull up on the handle. What?? Anyway, i finally get into my room and get cleaned up and before leaving for dinner I ask if the shuttle can pick me up at the car rental place because I had an early flight the next day and had no need for my rental car. She said that would be fine, and she said just call when I got there. When I got to the car rental place at the airport I tried calling and could not get through. Finally after 20 min. of trying I finally got the girl at the desk and asked her to send the shuttle to pick me up. I waited for over 30 min. and still no shuttle. I called back to the hotel and she said the driver left and came back 2-3 times and said she couldn't find the Enterprise at the airport. Finally one of the guys at Enterprise felt so bad that the gave me a lift back over to the hotel. Unbelievable.

I wish I had written down all of the names of the frontdesk staff that greeted me and my 18-month old twins so welcomingly. I genuinely felt that they were all happy to see us, and they couldn't have been more accommodating. One helped with my luggage, one helped with my double stroller, etc. All smiling the entire time.
I do remember Crystal's name though!!! Crystal took such good care of us in the restaurant and played with my girls as if they were her own. Crystal ensured we had milk for bedtime bottles and kid-friendly dinner items. She is warm, helpful, and so darn friendly. I even took a picture of Crystal with my girls after dinner.
I highly recommend this Holiday Inn. While the property is clean and lovely and convenient, it's the staff that puts this one right at the top. :-)

Convenient location - friendly staff (but could not find anyone to serve me breakfast at 8:55am !!)
Coffee, condiments & lids in room, but no cups !! (Reception did provide immediately on request, but who wants to wander the lobby in their PJs at 6am ??)
Ask to be roomed as far away from elevator and ice/vending machines as possible - the noise reverberates through door frames & walls...

I understand the need for a credit card for additional charges. I even understand putting a small charge on the card to ensure it's authentic and able to accept charges. But why was it necessary to put four separate charges on my card over the course of three days?
The bar and restaurant were good. The two bartenders were attentive and great. The waitress in the morning was cheerful and efficient too.
All in all a good stay, with nice staff and a decent room.

We spent one night here, and left the next morning for our home in Southern California. It was a pleasant night and comfortable. The Shuttle was on the spot and pleasant. This will be on our list at the top when we return to Charlotte. A great city.

I had the unfortunate experience to stay at this property due to a large convention in the area and all the Holiday Inn Express properties were booked. Checked in and the room was handicapped access. Not a major issue but we did not need this type of room. Then after using the bathroom, I leanred that the toilet was broken. I called the front desk and was put on hold. I took matters into my own hands, flushed the toilet manually and went down the front desk. Along the way, I spotted a maintainance worker and directed him to the room and the issue which he reported to and worked on promptly according to my wife who waited in the room. I waited on the line at the front desk for close to 10 minutes and then was able to talk to the night manager who didnt seem too surprized that the room was in dis repair. He agreed with my suggestion that my room should be moved and comped for the night since I had to stick my hands into the tank and get dirty and wet. He also told us that our rewards card would be credited with additonal points due to the nature of the problem. To this date, after talking to 3 seperate people at the property and on the 800 number those points have not materialized. I am by far not a power customer for the chain, but I do stay at various properties at least 5 to 10 nights a year. In my opinion, this property could have done a bit better. Only good in a pinch and since it's near the airport. Expect lots of foot traffic from airline employees coming and going at all hours of the night and usually in high speed.

Glad to see new owners in this place. No hot water for 4 days. Executive club closed half the time. Finally the washer & dryer were replaced. Did not risk trying the pool. Staff was friendly but not effective in getting problems fixed.
