Lovely hotel and good wheelchair access.
Room nicely decorated, spacious and shower room good design and access.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Car park far too small and disabled bays not monitored leaving it a free for all.
Shower room facilities were not clean and spoiled experience.
Water marks and debris on toilet, stains on sink, hairs on floor, significant mould on shower curtain, rust marks and dirt on shower room floor especially in corner not been cleaned for some time.
Shower drain partially blocked means 3/4 of entire room flooded during my 10 minute shower leaving my dirty clothes I had put on the floor soaking. Room not able to vent as fan not working.
Over all a nice hotel but hygiene and cleanliness need significant improvement and immediate attention for a reasonable standard.
Bedroom was cleaned and maintained to a high standard.

Despite being a Platinum member we received no upgrade. As a result, the room was very basic, with no fridge and no complimentary water etc, and no ironing board. It was a twin room but the duvet on one of the beds was simply a double duvet folded over. The bedside lights were non-matching and the standard lamp did not work. The room was also not clean, and there were a number of cobwebs. The bar appeared to be closed and the restaurant seemed to be understaffed. The staff were doing their best.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Eddie1950 Nice Hotel in beautiful setting
Stayed at Dumfries Holiday on a short leisure break. The hotel is nice, set in the lovely surroundings of Chrichton Estate. We had a very enjoyable stay and would recommend it.
I must add that the staff worked very hard indeed. This was particularly evident at a busy breakfast time when they struggled manfully to cope with clearing tables and demands from guests. They did this with a smile but one more additional member of staff on duty would have, in my opinion, resolved the pressure they were being placed under.
We ate in the Dining room both evenings, having enjoyed our meal on the first night. Again one criticism is that we waited 45 minutes after ordering our dessert which was replicated with other guests.
That said it was worth the wait.

We have used this hotel before it become a Holiday Inn and find that it is now settling down to its new guise. The location is fantastic (even in the rain!) The dinner menu was a surprise but when we worked it out it is flexible and the food is nicely cooked and well presented. Personally I would have appreciated another rice dish but this may come when the menu changes. The room and ensuite were clean and well presented and the bed comfortable.

Surprised with the reviews on other travel review sites. One of the best Holiday inn ever stayed in. Very modern rooms, great location and very good service. The only negative was that the air-conditioner wasn't working in our room and the hotel was fully booked to relocate us. Although, in the grand scheme of things it did not affect us too much. The toilets and the toiletries provided were of very high quality. Extremely comfortable beds, and apart from the air-conditioning, cannot fault it. Highly recommend it.
