Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by LADD Friendly Staff & Comfortable Accomodations
We were in Fargo for our son's wedding. The suite that we had booked was perfect for the event. There was plenty of room and seating available for entertaining afterwards and for the bride and bridesmaids to get ready for the special day. Staff were accomodating when requested. Due to the busy schedule during our stay and the suite being occupied it would have been nice for housekeeping to leave towels or come back later in the day to refresh the room. We did have some issues with the temperature in the livng room area being too cold but we did not have the opportunity to request assistance due to our schedules during our stay. We would stay there again because it was clean and staff were friendly and accomodating when approached or requesting. It would have been nice to know about the IHG Rewards Club Membership prior to our stay.

The ladies at the front desk were very pleasant on arrival as well as when the pool was temporarily closed. The staff was very efficient with cleanup and got things rolling again so my child could enjoy he pool which was the main reason we stayed at the holiday inn. A bonus was the comfortable beds and the in house dominos delivery service...best thin crust pizza we've had in a long time. We will definately be coming back to stay!

The room was nice and roomy. Although it was clean, it did smell of residual smoke, not overpowering, but definitely noticeable. The pool very very fun for the children. The hot tub was swarming with children as the pool was a little cold. The poolside food was delicious, but geared towards the children ie no healthy option (there is a salad, which says "grilled chicken", but came with "crispy chicken"). The restaurant buffet was great. Room service was also excellent. Recognition for IHG rewards was two small bottles of water.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by savannah123 small rooms
The main reason to stay at this hotel is for your kids, especially if they are younger. The remodeled pool area is great, although it could definitely use a bigger-or more- hot tubs. The pool hours are great too. We had a poolside room, which was very clean and remodeled, along with convenient, but was very small. Everything just feels tight in the rooms. There was a marked difference between the rates on Friday and Saturday versus Sunday, but I guess that is to be expected. Not sure I would stay here again just based on the size of the rooms. Wish they had suites.

I do have to admit I was very upset and confused when I was reviewing my credit card information online and the pending charges did not match with what the statement I received from the Holiday Inn. I thought I was being over charged so I had to make a special trip to the motel and have them explain the difference in charges. The explanations I got from the first person at the front desk did not make any sense so I had to talk to the manager on duty. After he explained that the overcharge would drop off I felt better about it but I disagree as to why they over charge just to drop the charge. Just charge people what they are told they will pay and people will not become upset and you will get a few lwss phone calls.

I live in the same town as this property and booked a room so my family could take advantage of the pool. My family consists of myself, spouse, 3 yr old and 2 yr old. We had no intention of sleeping there but we did plan on using the room for changing clothes/cleaning up before and after swimming.
We arrived on Sunday afternoon to find the pool area completely overcrowded. There were people absolutely everywhere. The crowd largely consisted of unsupervised children. I noticed wrist bracelets on almost everyone and found out it was a private party. I cannot say for certain that I was the only hotel guest at the pool but it sure looked that way. It was not made clear on the website when booking the room that the pool area was available for rent. Had I known, I would have inquired first and probably not booked the room.
We stayed for about 1 hour and left very disappointed. I notified the front desk agent upon check out of my dissatisfaction and was told they frequently rent the area on weekends. I suggested that they make that clear on the website but did not feel my comments would go beyond that discussion.
I realize that my booking was unconventional but it doesn't change the fact that a hotel guest at a hotel was unable to take advantage of the amenities so the hotel could profit from other another business venture. I think this property needs to decide if it wants to be a hotel or an amusement park so guests can make an informed decision before staying. I will not return.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Mel1971 Very clean and cozy
Stayed over as I had a very very early flight the next morning. Was told at check in that I had been upgraded based on my points....score! Was excited until about 10 pm that night, the upgraded room was next to the pool, there were kids yelling and screaming and playing, it was loud, then the live music began at the lounge. I was miserable. Maybe got 2 hours of sleep that night. The food was excellent! The room was very cozy and comfortable, very soft bed, I rented a movie and turned it up soI could drown out the sound of the pool and the music. Fell asleep about 2 am only to wake up at 4 to be to the airport by 4:30. I would have loved the stay had it been somewhere away from the pool. I felt like my upgrade was a downgrade based on the location of the room.
I will stay again and recommend a different room and would recommend for anyone else, but maybe request away from the pool.

Older HI with noisy rooms, old lumpy bed and new thick pillows. Hard to sleep with that roundup. Be prepared to hear the conversations in the adjoining rooms and hallway.
Breakfast was great, and personnel were very nice. Decor was pleasant and room was clean.

We have been staying at the Holiday inn in Fargo for many years.
Basically, we enjoy our stay there, but this last stay we had some negative issues.
1. Although the pool has been upgraded, we found it overcrowded to the point that we could not get into the hot tub, and the pool itself was very crowded for our two families. We feel that we are paying a premium to stay at the Holiday Inn because of the pool area , which is ok with us as long as the pool is available. We found that there weren't a lot of adults and kids with wristbands on when it was busy Saturday and Sunday. Maybe some of these people were freeloaders. Security should do hourly walkthroughs/checks re wristbands. We also felt that the pool water was very cold on our last day there Monday.
2. Although the room we stayed in was clean..they need upgrades
for the price of them.Other hotels in the area are available for about
$85 a nite. We realize the Holiday Inn has a much better ambiance
with the pool area, eating area, and bar but is it worth $40 more a nite especially since we only use those facilities at night basically?

Stayed with my husband and 6 yr old pool side. Very loud pool area and also from the hall. Not the place to stay if you need quite to sleep. Bathrooms are extremely small and had a plugged dirty tub that never was fixed.
Good for kids.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by TB21 Pizza delivery rate?
Stayed for entire week with what was described as "pizza delivery rate" only to be told it would be over $5 delivery charge to bring to my room, which seemed like a mile away from restaurant.
Facility is very dated and needs renovation, halls were very warm, pizza was "domino's express" almost unedible.
Will stay at the HI express next time.

Stale room-the carpet stinks- room 425. Preferential treatment given to other guest even though that I was a rewards member. More than $20 x days worth of breakfast coupon was given to another guest (incidentally we were from the same company and rewards member) . I thought it was so unfair that I wasn't given the same. Poor hotel.

Only problem we had was under the the toilet seat there was dry urine spots after the cleaners had just made our room available. I did not notify the front desk rather grabbed the cleaner from the next room to come back and clean it properly.

From first contact via phone to reserve a room until my checkout I was VERY impressed with the staff - always friendly, helpful and pleasant. Was pleasantly surprised when I was registering that the hotel provided a Bereavement Rate for those attending a funeral. Front desk staff in particular was exceptional. Throughout my stay the actions of the staff continually reminded me that I was a valued customer. Room was clean and comfortable and provided me a place to relax. All in all a VERY PLEASANT experience.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Darci38 A fantastic stay!
I took my 3 & 4 year old daughters and our 87 year old grandma to Fargo for a little shopping and relaxation. The Holiday Inn was perfect! We were poolside and it was wonderful! The girls loved the pool, many hours spent swimming and it was fantastic we could eat near the pool with food delivered right to us. Almost all our meals were in the hotel as kids eat free and with the wide age of us everyone could get a meal they enjoyed.
I was very impressed with the care taken with the hotel. Staff was always working hard at maintenance and cleaning, never saw anyone sitting around. All the staff was very friendly and helpful. I was very impressed to see a staff member cleaning the baseboards on her knees, that is attention to detail. Very well managed staff!
Only complaint was the bathrooms were a tad small but it's an older hotel that has been remodeled very nice so they can't change that now.
I would recommend this hotel to any family with younger children. A fantastic stay!

Stayed in room 228 and the room was nasty. The carpet had a black sticky sheen to it. It's pretty bad when you can't take your shoes off because it feels like you're walking on fly paper. I took a damp cloth and wiped the carpet and it was black. Like I said, nasty. I've always tried to stay at IHG hotels because of brand consistency. That's just not the case now.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Trisha4418 Very Clean, Newly Renovated, Great Staff
I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Fargo with my 9 year old, and her grandma. The staff was very friendly and eager to help. The hotel was spotless. I was surprised when I was told the hotel was not brand new, just newly renovated, as we thought it was a brand new hotel. The pool area is amazing for kids, my daughter had a blast. The only down side was the "code brown" in the pool. However staff quietly went to everyone seated around the pool and asked that we remove our kids from the pool as there was a "code brown", they were very discrete and handled it very well. They had the pool cleaned and running in about 1.5 hrs. I imagine that there are a lot of hotels out there that just wouldn't care and ignore the problem. The food was great. It has been a long time since I have been in a hotel where staff has been that friendly and helpful. The location being across the street from the West Acres Mall was a bonus. Unfortunately, Fargo doesn't seem to be very pedestrian friendly. But we were given the option of having the hotel driver take us anywhere we wanted to go!

There is a large generator right outside the window to this room. It starts up every hour, it sounds like a garbage truck. Air conditioner does not drown it out. If you are given this room, ask for another. I would have called to get another room, but it was after midnight when I got back to my room, & didn't want to worry the rest of the people in our party when I wasn't in my room the next morning. Ear plugs would have been nice. Have stayed here in the past & enjoyed it very much, not this room!

The rooms were stinky. Like they were just smoked in. The air was really muggy. Which made the sheets feel gross. The bathrooms were super small. I wish they would do a remodel. I would not stay there again for what they charge and what you get. No way! Way too expensive for what you get. The rest of my family that stayed that weekend there felt the same way.

We were very happy with everything at this hotel, except...The pool was not clean, to the point of having hairballs in the corners and on the deck. I don't know if the filtration system wasn't working or what, but dirt and hair had rolled into balls along the edge at the bottom of the pool.
