Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Holiday Inn Great Falls It was very cold the evening we came. However the staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable and warm! Nice place January 27, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointing stay in Great Falls We were welcomed by Scott at the front desk, friendly and nice. I found out from a couple that we were traveling with that they had received free drink coupons, so I went back to the desk to get ours, and Michael told us they didn't have any today. We could not get service in the restaurant, waited 15 minutes with empty coffee cups and menus, finally left and went elsewhere for breakfast. The day before, we waited so long for our breakfast that we saw people come in, eat and leave before we got our food. The hotel was booked solid for the entire weekend for the rodeo finals, but they did not increase the staff, making for some long waits. The lobby and elevators were dirty the whole time we were there, as they did not have the staff to keep up with cleaning. All in all, not a very satisfactory stay. January 22, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by double room occupancy issue Upon arrival we were given our room key, second floor, and upon entry to the room there were other people already checked into the room. I went back down to the front desk and was given a new room on floor five. We went all the way back up to floor give and neither of our room keys worked so we had to go back down and get new keys. Having to do all of this with an infant is very inconvenient. January 21, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable bed and fun in the swimming pool. Our room was clean and comfortable. The room was on the second floor overlooking the pool. I was staying at the hotel with my 3 and 5 year old grandsons. We enjoyed the pool area and waterslide. We went back to our room, and I ordered room service. I was told our order would be delivered in about 25 minutes. Forty minutes later I called back and was told that the girl who took our order had just stepped into the restroom, and the staff who answered the phone would have her call us immediately. I didn't get a call back. I sent an adult down to the restaurant to check on the status of our order. Only at that point did the restaurant staff call me back to tell me that our order had been lost by the cooks, that it was very busy, and that there were not enough cooks working for the amount of customers they had. The adult I sent down to check on our order said that the restaurant was not busy at all. I was told that our order would take at least another 25 minutes. This would put the time at past 8pm for a 3 and 5 year old to have something to eat for dinner. I was very upset. We did get our order as promised, and the restaurant comped the meal. In general, our experience at Holiday Inn was a good one. I'm not sure what happened at the restaurant that evening. I would come back and stay again but probably would not order room service again. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great service everyone at the front desk works hard to welcome and make you feel comfortable, especially Michael. Great location. January 4, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bed and breakfast without breakfast Where do I start? The hotel is clean and tidy with a dated interior. We booked a B&B package via IHG direct over Christmas. Imagine my surprise on Christmas Eve to discover the restaurant and bar had closed down for the holiday. In fact, breakfast did not happen on Christms Day. We were directed towards the meagrely stocked hotel store but to be absolutely frank. I would rather eat my own hair than force down candy and chips for breakfast. We went to friends for Christmas dinner which was a blessing as had we not had an invite, we would have starved. House keeping was a bit of a lottery. The first couple of mornings, the door went through around 8am. I took to posting a do not disturb sign. This put off the house keepers however, when we did leave our room and removed the sign, our room was left. I spat the dummy after being left out for 3 days straight and complained direct to the manager. I have stayed in Holiday Inns all over the world. I believe in the brand and always source a IHG hotel on my travels (I am writing this from the Crowne Plaza Seattle). However, my recent experience in Great Falls was frankly shocking. We checked out for 3 days to go on a pre-arranged trip down south. On our return, things didn't get any better. We were directed towards the New Year's Eve package which included the room, dinner and breakfast. We were told that dinner would be served until 9pm so imagine our surprise to be told at 8.30pm the kitchen was closed. They did eventually feed us a cold offering from the menu. The prime rib to be fair was lovely but stone cold. Baked potato turned out to be mash and just as we were finishing our meal, the gravy arrived. It was at this point that we were rushed away as the waiters wanted to set up a disco. I complained to Seth who understandably reimbursed most of our bill. There appears to be a total breakdown of communication between all of the teams. The kitchen are on one agenda which isn't what the hotel is selling. It isn't all bad news. The servers in the sports bar are extremely helpful and attentive. I will go as far to reccomend Melissa for her services above and beyond the call of duty. She was offering to run guests around town to get food on the evening of Christmas Day. Marion was very good as well. I can not fault the front of house staff either. They were extremely professional and utterly mortified every time I complained. Unfortunately, other Members let the side down (house keeping, kitchen, waiters on New Years Eve. Given the choice, I would chose to stay elsewhere in the future. January 2, 2015
