This was a nice place to get away for the thanksgiving weekend. Within 5 hrs of Vancouver and without the rain. Osoyoos is the only desert in Canada and the weather was beautiful. Spectacular view from our room and comfortable room. This was our second time at this place and glad we choose a room facing the lake.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Corrado41-2 wonderful location
We experienced nice and clear autumn weather, and, as the HI is situated on the dam of Osoyoos, the location is perfect. Very friendly people at the reception and in the restaurant, which has also a good chef.

The location of the hotel, especially rooms an the lake side are good. I would be leery of the highway side, due to noise. However, the lack of maintenance at this hotel is apparent. We had a lakeshore walkout, however, upon entering the room we noticed stains on the ceiling and peeling wallpaper, so nowhere near the standards that I have come to expect from a Holiday Inn over the past few years. After we were unpacked we noticed that the heater in our room did not work. The front desk was helpful and provided us with an oil heater. However, with no working circulating fan, it was difficult to move the heat around causing discomfort for us and our young baby. We then noticed a slow draining tub, that was remediated when asked, but this kind of thing is a pet peeve as housecleaning staff should notice this issue every time the room is cleaned, and should be repaired long before guests arrive. In short some value for the money here, but don't expect regular Holiday Inn standards. We planned to stay several days but checked out on day two and found a better lakeshore room in another hotel. This place could be great with some updating and basic maintenance.

Beds were very comfortable. Hotel was very quiet. Restaurant was particularly excellent as well as the restaurant staff.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by jerseytraveler Tired hotel and dirty room
The hotel is tired and in need of an update. The first room we were given had dirt on the floor in the kitchen area, a bed not made up and a shared balcony with the neighbours, who we met when they stumbled over to the window after seeing the lights come on. They had clearly had a few too many drinks. They switched our room to a cleaner one and a private balcony. I would not recomend this hotel until a serious update has been completed.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Jmorri Hotel and staff need an overhaul !
The beautiful setting and surroundings make up for the fact that this hotel is in rough shape. There was wall paper pealing from most corners, the sofa was well used, and the bathroom was needing some paint. The worst part was that the staff were cold and unfriendly. On check in we waited while a guest argued with staff over some problem. Another front desk person was on the phone and looked at us like we should go away and come back when they weren't so busy. When we called down and asked for extra towels, they seemed very annoyed. Not a warm and friendly place !

WE were searching for accommodations for an extended winter stay, needing to stay in Canada but in a warmer location than northern Alberta. We did check out numerous other hotels/motels, but found the Holiday Inn in Osoyoos to best meet our required needs.
A friend had recommended the hotel to us for this specific purpose as she had stayed there last winter for several months
