Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Family445 No view at all from 1st floor window, car lift very small!
Comfortable room, no shower curtain for over bath shower. Window overlooked small dirty paved area and high wall around so no view at all! These rooms should have a lower charge than rooms with a nicer outlook.
Nice glass lift, great location near lots of restaurants.
Breakfast ok, not fantastic. Cooked items swimming in fat.
Car park very small, do not take a large car in!

stayed in Holiday Inn Reims in August. the room and bathroom were quite large. Nevertheless, the shower was in the tub with no curtain so that the bathroom was messed after one person showered.
The breakfast was really poor. Looked like they used industrial products but the fresh orange juice (we could press the oranges) was nice. Impossible to get Capuccino, the hotel has not the machine.
the location is really nice and you can walk to the city center in minutes.

Booked early on line and got a good price.
Nice, clean room and large, firm but comfortable bed.
interesting car parking, especially if you have to use the lift to get the car to the lower floor.
Staff were friendly and helpful and always had a smile and a cheerful greeting, despite my poor French.
Only had tea and coffee in the room and the little sachets of milk are not to my taste, so bought some proper milk when out

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Fraser40 Excellent service & great location
We used the hotel as a stop-over on our way to and from the Alps. Its location is perfect and the facilities are all up to the usual Holiday Inn standards. The staff we spoke to all spoke excellent English and were happy to help us improve our French ! They were very helpful and informative with all our requests.
Reims is a great city to visit with so much history, highly recommended all round.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Maxab Great Experience!
My husband and I spent the weekend in Reims. The holiday Inn was in a great location. The staff were all very friendly and professional. The rooms although small were well equipped and the beds very comfortable. We especially enjoyed our trip to the bar on the 7th floor where we had a nice night time view of the cathedral. This is also the area where breakfast is served. Nice selection of food. We would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely make a return trip. Thanks holiday Inn for a lovely weekend.

Location is superb, although there is a little difficult to get a parking lot in the surroundings. The hotel has a beautiful city view at the restaurant, rooms very clean and comfortable, attention excellent. All the atmosphere is highly recommended.

The staff and property were excellent. The staff were so helpful and kind in everything they did. I only wish we would have stayed more days. We will come back every time we are in Reims and use this property as our base camp.

My wife and I travel extensively in Europe and we decided to stop by Reims on a short stay to enjoy the Champagne and tours of some local cellars. The hotel is recently updated, our room was upper floors, front. Update was very nicely done. Our room was large with a spacious bathroom. Staff was ready for our arrival and check in took less than two minutes. The staff was helpful, warm, and friendly. As stated in other reviews the hotel is located perfectly to enjoy the downtown area and a 10 to 20 minute walk will get you to several Champagne cellars. Overall an excellent experience.

- Street > hardly no isolation with street
- Internal (one hear everything what is happening on the corridor
Bed & room were ok as every holliday inn. Though it had more the charm of an office building, which has been converted to a hotel.
A platin customer

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by RichardAndKate Great location, mostly good hotel
We have stayed at the Holiday Inn, Reims for more than a decade but this was our first visit since it's major refurbishment during 2012. The location is still (obviously!) perfect for exploring Reims on foot and enjoying the excellent selection of bars and restaurants it offers. The rooms have been well refurbished and are comfortable. A very useful feature is the minibar chiller, which is NOT electronically controlled (a pet hate in upmarket hotels is moving something in a minibar but not consuming anything and still being charged because a sensor says I’ve had a beer). This means you have somewhere to chill a bottle of champagne from one of the many champagne houses (this is Reims, after all) or, more practically, a pint of milk for your tea and coffee! Just a couple of very minor niggles we had with the adjoining rooms. There is no longer a mirror behind the table in the room for my wife to do her makeup. Also, the alteration of the bathroom on the disabled-friendly side into a wet-room was a great idea but there is no longer a unit to put anything on, the wall-mounted tissues have vanished and it's impossible not to drown the entire floor area!
We have never felt the need to eat an evening meal in the 7th floor restaurant, as the choice in town is very wide and very good, so I can’t comment on that. The bar, now relocated to the 7th floor, is more than adequate for a post meal drink though and (usually) efficiently staffed. Breakfast, however, is one area that does, occasionally, let this hotel down. The selection is fairly standard and all nice enough but woe betide if you are towards the end of the time slot. By 8.30, on a morning when breakfast runs until 9.30, there is usually very little cooked left, the bread and pastries are thin on the ground and the staff show no inclination to find any more.
Other than that, we’ve always had nice stays there and are returning for 3 more days in the summer.

Very well located, in the heart of the city of Reims, the hotel staff is very very good. I also liked the restaurant. Excelent option for leisure and for business trips. In my next visit, I will return to the Holiday Inn Reims City Centre.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Ianski Good room and reception staff
Room was comfortable and a good standard as it has been refurbished recently. Restaurant food in the evening was average, the restaurant was cold and service intermittent. Breakfast staff were not helpful, much of the bread had gone and no more was available. Staff started clearing everything away around us at 9:30 very poor!

Stayed in a cold weekend in January:
Room far too cold as the only source of heat was the air conditioning system, which during cold weather is nowhere near adequate. The corridor outside (with radiators) was much warmer.
Not good enough for a hotel at this cost.
Hotel was under renovation, so much of the public areas were sheeted off and the main lift was out of action. A warning on the website would not have been unreasonable.
Also requested a room on the front of the hotel and a high floor: Received a room at the back on the first floor. I know requests are not guaranteed, but the hotel was practically empty. Also a priority club member - was that really too much to ask ?

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Mark07 Poor example of holiday inn
Parking might as well be non existent as it was so hard to get into and if you have a 4x4 if it is over 2m tall forget it. Rooms only average not as clean or comfortable as other Holiday inns I have stayed in, also this is the first time I have been charged local tourist tax before the hotels have always included it in the room rate.

Handy for the motorway, yet close to town centre. Friendly and helpful staff. In the middle of some refurbishment work but this didn't detract from the overall experience.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by gbwilk Under construction and nobody told me
This is not a review, it is a complaint for Holiday Inn. Do not post it as a review.
First, let me say the managers at this hotel were fabulous. The night manager in particular got us a dinner reservation on NYE at the last minute. He worked for an hour on that problem. He was great. As were the others.
I have 2 complaints. First, this hotel was undergoing renovations and nobody told us. The lobby was discombobulated, the restaurant a temporary room upstairs, and the elevator a mess. Our room had been completed and was nice but the property overall was in disarray. We should have been told when we booked.
Second, we were not told that breakfast started at 7 on 1/1 instead of the usual breakfast start time of 6:00 or so, and even though we paid for it we were not able to eat because of an early train. I should get my money back for that.
I am a Priority member and should be treated better.

Superbly located within the centre of Reims and within easy walking distance of the shops and numerous bars and restaurants. Also very easy to access from the Motorway.
Shame about the state of the building which is obviously undergoing a full refurbishment but should be first class once finished. The Receptionist both on arrival and departure were first class, welcoming and knowledgeable. They should be commended for their customer service skills.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by PETERS MY STAY IN THE REIMS BUILDING SITE
I have stayed in this hotel lots of times in the last 15 years and have always been well satisfied. Not this time, in my opinion it should have been shut during this refurbishment. The lobby area was a maze of chip boarded tunnels and the excellent bar area was completely chip boarded off. My room was 511 and that floor was similarly chip boarded and stunk of paint the whole time we were there. It was pointless asking to move rooms as there was drilling and banging going on in the main lift shaft and this echoed all round the hotel. A restfull break - I don't think so. Had I not prepaid I would have left. I have already raised these concerns with Holiday Inns customer care and received a, what can only be descibed as a standard, going through the motions patronising reply which did not address one of my complaints.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Martin3142 Noisy but well treated
The Holiday Inn at Reims City Centre was undergoing very noisy renovation. However, when we complained we were upgraded to a very superior suite in a quieter section of the hotel for which we were very grateful. We did hear other guests commenting on the noise in their rooms and feel that the whole wing should have been closed during renovation.
However we will continue to use Holiday Inns as they are generally of a high standard.
