The experience was overall high class and great the only thing i would further suggest is some type of breakfast people are very comfortable with breakfast at the hotel and that would push the competition further out of reach if a breakfast of some sort was offered September 19, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wow! Nice surprise I stayed in Vegas for a work training. The training was at another hotel. I couldn't get a room where the training was because it was above my allowed amount. I booked at the Holiday Inn Desert Club Resort. It was a brand I trusted, but I didn't know what to expect. I drove from home and arrived in Vegas at 3:30 p.m. Check in is normally not until 4:00 but I went up to the desk anyway. The staff was excellent! They were so friendly and accommodating. I was actually able to get into my room 30 minutes earlier than I had expected. A huge plus for a weary traveler. I was asked if I had an issue with stairs. I was told no and asked if possible I would prefer a top floor unit. The staff for more than happy to grant my request. When I got to my room I was stunned. It went well above and beyond what I had expected. The room was like my own little apartment/condo. Had all the comforts of home including a full kitchen and a washer and dryer in the unit! It was nice to be able to cook meals for myself instead of eating out the whole time I was there. When it was time to check out I was really sad to leave. The staff had been lovely and so nice. I checked out at 6:00 a.m. to get on the road. The lady that assisted me with check out was so nice and pleasant at 6 a.m.! I will keep this place front of mind when I head to Vegas again! Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Back to Basics I opened the door to see trash on the floor, apparently left by someone too much in a hurry to look in the room as they shut the door. The remote control and bedside tables had dried something on them. There was long black hair in the bathroom. I'm a bald red-head, so am pretty sure it wasn't mine. The carpet is so old, you can't tell if it is clean or not (except the cigarette burn holes, which were surely clean). The same was true of the furniture and bed spread. In the context of the rest of what I saw, I actually kept my socks on or used the slippers provided in the sealed bag, only sat on one of the dining room tables and pulled the bedspread completely off and left it there. I even thought twice before grabbing the handles on the curtains to close them. The hangars can't be removed. Aside from being annoying, it also told me they are used to people stealing them. As a result, I didn't feel my stuff was secure so kept the "privacy please" sign on so not even the cleaning staff would come into the room. Not my kind of place. Maybe if I was planning on partying and making a mess and didn't want to concern myself too much with taking care of the room, a place like this would make me feel more comfortable? The property was very convenient to the Sands Convention Center, where the conference was held, and the value was extraordinary. If any business travelers want to avoid the big, expensive casino hotels and have access to resort facilities, you couldn't do better than this facility. September 14, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Updated rooms I have stayed here the past 3 times visiting las vegas. This last trip was a bit umpleasent, we were in a ground lever room. In the middle of the morning all we heard were stomping from the floor above us. This was very dissapointing and unpleasent.. I would think about staying here next time, ground floor is a plus for me when traveling with my child. But I love this resort is convinient and very clean. September 10, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Vacation in Vegas The hotel was located across a parking lot from the strip so you can walk there from he strip, not alone at night though. The shuttle service was a great to go to and from the strip. i would have hoped for free shuttle to the airport which is so close. They report that it is not cost effective. I think they should consider shuttle service to the car rental. Passengers could then take a shuttle to the airport. My point is its a family resort and paying a shuttle for the whole family can be pricy. The resort is nice with several pools. The only hangup was no elevators. With elderly parent its hard to go up and down stairs. You can always request a ground floor room but they are not always available. All in all great stay, friendly staff, good value, literally right behind the strip 3 minute shuttle ride or 7 minute walk to Strip across a parking lot. . September 10, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by No elevators I did not like the fact that this resort do not have any elevators. The staff was not aware of the public transit in the area. I had to find it out all on my own. I did not like the fact the shuttle service only take you to three (3) places on the strip. Also on our last day there; I found a big bug in the tub as I went to take a shower. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Ambience Holiday Inn has brought this resort to the next level with excellent service and maintenance of the facilities. Everything about this resort gives credit to the dedication of the staff in running a first class vacation spot. For us it is close enough to the "Strip" to walk (about 10 min walk door to door - that's my brisk walk) but keeps the strip at bay when we just want to enjoy the sun and pool (for those who have not visited this resort it has 5 pools) without the noise of the "Strip". I know that we will recommend this resort to our friends and will be back again in the future. September 3, 2014

The shower water pressure was awful. The mattress was old and sunk in on one side. The sheets did not fit the mattress. August 31, 2014

I was happy to tell him that this was the least expensive accommodation I could find for the particular Saturday night we stayed. I booked it on a whim because we left the Grand Canyon a day earlier than anticipated and had to find a room quickly back in Las Vegas. The spaciousness, cleanliness, fireplace, decor--everything was just fabulous for our party of 5. We were able to do our laundry in the washer August 28, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic room The 2 bedroomed villa we stayed in was absolutely wonderful we cannot fault it in any way. It was so spacious and everything from the kitchen sink was provided! There were ample towels, crockery provided even washing up liquid and washing powder. The beds were very comfortable and everywhere was spotlessly clean on arrival. The whole site was kept clean and the staff were all polite and helpful nothing was too much trouble for anyone. I would highly recommend this resort. August 28, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful and Clean This place was immaculate, The grounds, the pools, the hotel lobby and best of all... the rooms. Pristine. The staff was very professional for the most part. Be careful with the Shuttle Driver though. Twice he made us feel as if we were bothering him with our mundane questions. The convenience store was a great surprise with everything they had for sale. The problem was the prices were outrageous. $12 plus for a 6-pack of beer was worse then most Casino prices. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by SAD AND ASHAMED MANAGEMENT has no idea how to handle CUSTOMERS, The front desk staff is all under trained and under staffed. They all know nothing of customer service at all. I have been with Holiday Inn AND I spend over 150 nights a year and also own in Orlando and in WI at Club Vacations. I was never greeted and because I was not there to buy or take a tour it made NO different to them who or what I was. One café on the property and was under staffed everyday. They have an I don't care, Because of the Management and I know that because they treated me that way. The Golden Nugget gave me VIP, breakfast and drinks for a better price. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by uncomfortable bed my family and I thought the beds and pillows for the bed were pretty uncomfortable,also the shower heads were extremely poor quality along with the shower/bath tap mixer. Also a baking tray and or pizza tray in the kitchen would be a great addition as there was nothing to use other than a glass pyrex dish. Room had a musty smell that could easily of been fixed with a cheap room freshener. Pretty cheap fixes that would of gained the resort a lot higher points score. Staff in bar area extremely helpful. Would be a great resort when all rooms are fixed up to the standard of the other rooms we were shown for time share. August 23, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable In trying to check in and having to wait for almost 2 hours from check in time. The manager never once offered a free show or dinner ticket for the inconvenience and frustration this caused. My daughter and granddaughter slept on the pull out sofa and the mattress was worn out and the springs were popping through the mattress. The blow dryer blew up. all of our key cards were deactivated and we could not get into our room after dinner the first night. It took someone to come and replace them about 15-20 minutes. Check-in was smooth, the TimeShare upsell/meeting/discount was expected and not as obnoxious as at other places. A bit strange was having to sign to decline house-keeping, and yet still receive it the last few days, but nonetheless pleasant. The on-site restaurant is small and intimate, the little shop carries everything of need, plus the atmosphere is similar to a European Bungalow Park, adding to the relaxation after a hectic day at a huge conference. The ability to cook your own meals and be completely self-sufficient (dishwasher, washer & dryer, oven, stove etc) is wonderful and prevents one from going stir-crazy in Las Vegas when there's a 20 minute traffic-jam of taxis to get to the conference venue.
