Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Noisy location I know the hotel can't help this, but outside of my room, around 6am, all I could hear were large work trucks backing up and making quite a bit of noise. I will have to bring some earplugs when I return to this property. It was too bad because other than that, the hotel was lovely. My only other thought is that it would be nice if the hotel had more accessible outlets for sitting on the bed with my laptop. The outlet was in the middle of the bed, behind the headboard. Very inconvenient. I wish they could provide an extension cord or power strip. Other hotels have outlets on the lamps and this is always much appreciated by those of us who don't want to sit in a desk all night. February 8, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Place to Stay! My room and restroom were always impeccably neat and clean. I appreciate this when staying at a hotel day after day! Breakfast at HIE are always good. February 1, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Another good stay I've stayed here several times, and it seems to be consistently good. January 27, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by great staff and service Nice hotel, right off the highway. Could use a renovation, but they keep it up nice and clean. January 26, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Water would not get hot both nights. The staff made a note. If the shower water had been able to get hot, it would have been a good stay. Because I was there two nights and nothing was done about it, it made for a rather disappointing stay for the cost. It was just a warm shower, very disappointing. January 6, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by It is time to bring some technology upgrade... Overally OK but I could use faster internet speed and HDTV programs. Especially, what is a point of having flat screen HDTV, when all the broadcasting feeds are non HD? January 3, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Hotel This hotel wss very convenient to the interstate in Ames, IA. It could use some sprucing up but was clean and the employees were very friendly and helpful. The pool was heated but the room the pool was in was not heated so getting in and out of the water was challenging. Overall, a pleasant place to stay. January 3, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by nice room-hot and cold temp We stayed in a room facing the north(street side)and could not reach a comfortable room temp.It was very hot the closer to the door and hallway and cold towards the heating unit and the street.I believe much of this is due to a wall unit heater and thermostadt and dealing with a north wind(cold). It will require a change in the heating and ac (I believe) to maintain a constant room temp.I'm sure the rooms facing the South were not affected nearly as much, but It will require some changes to be comfortable.
