Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not up to standards that I am used to at HIX Bad experience from the start. Check in took about 15 minutes as staff was attending to a problem that was created when they gave an arriving guest a key to a room that was already occupied; never seen that happen before. When we got to our room the door wasn't even closed; I noticed that it really required a hard pull on the way out (which housekeeping must not have done) to close it. Tried to use the room safe because of this reason but it would not work. Hotel staff was alerted to both problems and tried to fix safe but couldn't. Asked for new room but the wait was way too long to fit our schedule. Breakfast selection was less than at most HIX that I stay at and several items were gone well before breakfast ended. Fitness room had old, broken equipment. One positive was the staff; they were friendly and tired to be helpful. Just not what I am used to at Holiday Inn properties that I stay at quite often. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice hotel but... While I know the word "express" should've forewarned me, I did not realize it meant a really small bathroom. I am used to spreading out my toiletries and contact solution, etc when bunking down for the night. This was challenging in the small facility. On the other hand, the bathroom is probably ideal for a business man on the go with few items to spread out. I did, however, find the breakfast to be more than adequate for someone who is a vegetarian. The staff was friendly and helpful which made the visit worthwhile. August 29, 2014

A continuing deficiency at this motel is the restricted access and exit from the parking lot. Over a five day stay there were many extra miles driven just to be able to get into the parking lot by driving around the block to be approaching from the correct direction. ... August 25, 2014
