We were very disappointed in this Holiday Inn Express. The evening staff was not friendly, the room was noisy, with a bright flashing light that continued all night. The room was not as clean as other Holiday Inns- the bathroom had some broken fixtures, and was not stocked with the usual toiletries.
We will not stay at this particular Holiday Inn again. The workout equipment was sub-standard also.

Athens HI is a great place to stay. Michael was outstanding at check in. Breakfast was the normal HI menu but good and except for visible wear and tear on the building it was one of the cleanest HI I have stayed at. So much better than the HI in Tulsa...
Great facility for this small town... will use again (often) as we visit our son in college there.
Would like to see an improved breakfast menu...

We had a wonderful stay at the Athens Holiday Inn. We were in town for a family reunion. The staff was great. The rooms were super clean and so comfortable! I would highly recommend this place!

I travel extensively (> 300 nights per year) and have been staying at the Holiday Inn in Athens intermittently for many months
The staff is consistently one of the most professional, accomodating, and friendly that I have encountered. Honestly, I cannot think of any experience with a hotel staff that has been consistently better (including 5 star and in comparison to 50+ other hotels this year).
The facility, rooms, etc are as good as any I have encountered outside of a major city.
The Assistant Manager,Cheyenne, is fantastic and her approach to customer relations is readily evident in the attention to detail and personable interaction of the staff she manages.
Th only complaint - and it is a moderately big concern of mine - is the Internet connection is beyond horrible. It has cost me countless hours of lost productivity and on a few occassions has required a return to work in order to find a reliable internet connection. It is a problem that ownership/management has been aware of for months without addressing. I have been kicked out 3 times just writing this review. Bear this in mind if you will need reliable access - at the present time you can't count on it to any degree.
It is such a shame to be doing so incredibly well on all levels but then have annoyed customers almost daily because of this one concern. Colleagues who I work with share a similar sentiment.
Hopefully, they get it squared away soon.
