The overall stay was great. If you have an issue with outside traffic noise level, request a room on the entrance side of the hotel.

Even in (-11) degree weather the hotel was comfortable and warm. Good place to crash after a long work day.

Holiday Inn Express is close to downtown and restaurants, liquor store, dollar store, pharmacy, gas stations, all within a couple minutes’ walk.
Check in was very easy. Cindy at the desk was very nice and welcoming.
The room has a small section for a mini-mini kitchen area. There is a sink, microwave, refrigerator, and single cup coffee maker. The light isn’t directly overhead of the area so it’s a little difficult to see. They provide two packets of regular coffee, two packets of decaf coffee, one tea, and one decaf tea. There are also packages of sugars and powdered creamers. There is a small cupboard with paper towels, styrofoam plates, plastic forks spoons and knives, and a hand can opener. I had one of the coffees the first morning and housekeeping did not refill it. I’m sure that if I had requested another one they would’ve provided me with more. There is a sign that states that if you forgot anything like your shaver or toothbrush, they will provide it with you complimentary. There is an ironing board and iron in the closet. There is a large closet with extra pillows and blankets. The closet door is a mirror. There is a safe.
The bed was hard and very comfortable.
The fitness center is open 5:30 am to 11:00 pm. There were three machines: a bike, a treadmill, and an elliptical. There is a TV.
The pool is open 6:00 am to 9:00 pm. The water is very chilly and not very refreshing on a cold winter night when there is no hot tub to warm up in first. They provide towels in the pool room.
Wi-fi is free and needs a password. They provide you with the password in a little envelope they give with your keycards I had no issue logging on or staying connected.
One of my favorites - there is a printed list of all the channels. Some places don’t have that and you have to just channel surf to find out what stations are on what channels.
There is one coin-operated washer and one dryer (probably on each floor). The detergent and fabric softener are $1.00 each. The washer and dryer each cost $3.00 per load, which I think is exorbitant.
Complimentary breakfast is served 5:30 am to 9:30 am. To me that is very early to stop serving breakfast. We didn’t wake up in time the second morning. There is scrambled eggs, omelets (which is just an egg substitute folded with a bit of cheese in the middle), waffles (which my husband said weren’t very good), a pancake maker, delicious biscuits and sausage gravy (one of my favorites as restaurants where I live don’t have this on the menu), patty sausages, a couple flavors of boxed oatmeal, several types of breads, bagels, muffins. They have cartons of 2% milk, apple juice, orange juice, coffee.
The room has a cabinet with three large drawers that the TV sits on. There are no drawers in the bathroom and very little counter space to put your toiletries.
Our major complaint was that the rooms are not very sound proofed. We could hear the people in the room above us moving around and it sounded like there was a person running a foot race back and forth.
While our stay was very nice, because of the noise issue, the early breakfast hour, and no hot tub, we might stay elsewhere depending on the cost. I recognize that the noise issue and lack of a hot tub are structural issues, and not issues that management or other associates are responsible for. However, they are issues that are important to us.
I would recommend this hotel.

We were in town for Christmas with our extended family. With 31 members we cannot all stay at the homestead so my family of 5 stays at the Holiday Inn Express. The quiet, clean rooms provide a nice respite from the multiple family activities. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. This year they allowed us to bring the whole family over on Christmas Eve and use the lobby to take a family picture!
