Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Stay away from the Flag Pole My room was by the flag pole. The wind blew all night and the metal on the rope clanged with the metal flag pole and kept me up all night. Staff was rude. I was told by locals there that they host enough soccer teams that they don't need to specialize in hospitality and cleanliness. January 21, 2016

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Under Construction Hotel is under construction and it's a mess. Pool and whirlpool are out of order. Rates have not been reduced. Parking is limited with construction workers everywhere. Breakfast coffee was less than hot and sometimes empty. Only 1 single elevator. Staff is friendly and nice. I would avoid this property until construction is completed. December 20, 2015

You would think a hotel with a block of rooms for a wedding would let the bride or groom know what their guests would be encountering. Construction not withstanding, my room was a dissappointment for the amount charged. While I was able to shower, sleep, and work from my room the conditions were distracting, the condition of my room was below average and I felt like the room was vastly overcharged for in comparison to nearby hotels with similar and better amenities. Daytime front desk staff were very friendly, consistent with the people of Iowa. Room was comfortable, pillows could be a little more firm. Tub height is very high; probably due to plumbing? Shower could have been more powerful and the lights above the sink could be brighter. December 3, 2015

We accepted, and the two rooms were offered at a discounted price. We have stayed at the Burlington, IA hotel many times and have had good to excellent experiences each time. November 24, 2015
