Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Cardiff Had a room over looking the water which was nice. Large room, clean with all the usual things inside. Breakfast was ok, not the best ive had in a Holiday Inn Express. Down side was being charged £5.00 to park on top of the room charge. Free parking available on the road outside. Only a short walk to Cardiff Bay and a good variety of bars and restaurants June 14, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by adequate for our needs and friendly staff Stayed one night in a family room with my husband and two children. The staff were very welcoming and we were able to check in an hour before the scheduled time. Great service from staff on reception desk, providing a map and directions for where we wanted to go. Comfortable bed, although space very limited once the sofa bed was set up for the children. However we only stayed for one night so that wasn't too much of an issue. Took us a little while to find the hotel initially, but then it was an easy walk to Cardiff Bay where the were ample bars and restaurants to choose from. Breakfast was a little basic, and not easy to manoeuvre around the breakfast room once it was full, but again for just one night this wasn't too much of an issue. Overall a comfortable, clean hotel with attentive staff. Cost for a family room very favourable compared to some other hotels in the Cardiff Bay area. I would stay here again. June 6, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fabulous service & great location Cannot fault the staff and service at this Holiday Inn. We only spent one night here but found it an excellent base to explore Cardiff City Centre. About 20 minutes walk (with two children!!) to the Dr Who Experience and 15 minutes to the town centre, but this was fine by us. Nice quiet location and good selection at breakfast. Once again thanks to the staff - full marks for their help and friendliness. June 5, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great for visiting Cardiff Booked two (reward) nights here so that we could visit Cardiff during the half term break. The hotel is a standard HIE, clean, tidy and including the all important buffet breakfast (very good when feeding a family of four!) The location is perfect for visiting Cardiff and the bay, with it being an easy walk to the bay and it's attractions. We had a great time, and even if the room was a little 'cosy' when there were four of you in there, we would use this hotel again for a visit to Cardiff. I only have two gripes: 1 - £5/day parking on what looks like the hotels own property/car park. 2 - Zero benefits for PC members. Understandably, room upgrades are out of the question, but other HIE I've stayed at have offered, amongst other things, free wifi, drinks, free parking, gym access or discount vouchers at local restaurants. It was a shame that HIE Cardiff Bay was the first IHG group hotel I've stayed at that did not offer anything. June 4, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A little gem The hotel was very clean & the rooms warm & comfortable, it was very quiet so we had a good sleep. The hotel ia short walk from the fantastic attractions that Cardiff has to offer, but if you dont want to walk a taxi is less than a £5. However the best thing about this hotel was the staff everyone was very warm & friendly & they all went out of their way to ensure we had a great stay. Well done holiday inn you could teach other places a thing or 2. May 29, 2013
