Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by WEEKEND OF COMFORT I have spent the last couple of months, each weekend at the HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS IN STONY BROOK and can say it has been a great experience! I am always greeted with a professional staff who remembers my name, my preferences, and is always concerned how my stay is going!! I can say almost every weekend, there is something genuinely great going on at this hotel. Lots of celebrations, such as weddings, childrens parties, community gathering, such as for Breast Cancer, Barkfest and even right down to the paintings hung on the walls in the lobby from the local school kids! I will continue to stay at this hotel and would definitely recommend it to anyone. Linda October 31, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by wonderful staff The staff were ALL very welcoming and helpful. I found that the property in general needs upgrading. We stayed on the ground floor. The room door didn't close unless pulled firmly, the shower curtain rail was falling down, the a/c operated on 'auto' even though we set the fan on 'high'. Breakfast offerings were very bland. I would recommend this property for the convenience of location. However, it honestly wouldn't be my first choice. You have a captive audience!! Upgrading infrastructure is a must!! October 31, 2014

Guests busy moving chairs, rooms etc...Manager's really loud personal conversation, Differentiated fee on Blocked guests...no room "make up/bedding" by front desk.INSULTING because no one was on the receiving end of housekeeping. Front Desk was defensive of policy, instead of letting the guest explain, kept repeating policy which still does not make sense....quite insulting and not at all helpful, waste of time. Far prefer ********* INN...beds, bedding, cleanliness ,breakfast, internet OVERALL As a family we are constant travelers throughout US and Canada. If this hotel was not blocked (which we did no receive discount) will never stay again October 29, 2014
