This hotel is the best location hotel in town, near Simpang Lima, centre of the city. A lot of local food like "Nasi kucing', lesehan etc.
Bed is very comfortable, shower is good, breaksfast is great and staff is very nice

On arrival, my wife found out that the carpet of the lift was dirty, dusty. It seemed they seldom cleaned it. Later on when we entered the room, we were greeted by a foul smell coming from the bath-room. This problem seems to lie on the faulty drainage system. Pity the house-keepers. This was not their mistake. But, later on, we found out that the room's carpet was dirty, not-yet vacuum-cleaned. The next morning we went to front desk to complain about it. Later on when we returned in the evening, we saw the carpet was somewhat cleaner, but not to our satisfaction. The bath-room was not so clean, either. The room's drapery was also in need of cleaning.The hotel was still quite new. Yet, it was dirty. The house-keeping needs to be tremendously improved. We have ever stayed at a Holiday Inn Express in Europe, in Bologna to be exact. Oh, it was so lovely. Very very clean. Why can't a Holiday Inn Express in Indonesia do the same?
We found the other things quite satisfactory. Check-in and check-out were excellent. The breakfast was quite O.K. for the class of such a hotel. No complaints. Breakfast attendants were very polite. The gym, though small, was quite nice. The self-laundry facility was a great extra. The washers and dryers and irons were excellent. But we noticed that one of the washers was unstably set on the floor, causing it to shake heavily during spinning. Why did nobody care about it?
Oh yaahh, one more complaint. Put more attention on the air-conditioning. It was not so cool. Probably O.K. for local guests. But, we are afraid that foreign guests might complain about it. Let alone the hotel was still quite new. What will happen when it gets older?
We hope the GM of Holiday Inn Express Semarang, Mr Adhim, will work hard to correct the problems mentioned above.
Lastly, we wish you all success. We love Holiday Inn.
