Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Love those pillows The room was comfortable; slept great in the bed with the best pillows ever. I wanted to take them home, but I did not. Breakfast was very nice with a variety of foods; breakfast staff were very helpful and efficient. Although we did not swim, it was very nice to sit by the pool and read. One of my constant complaints is employees who should be doing their jobs, but are on their cell phones either talking or texting. This was true of the front desk staff. It's hard to take care of the guests' needs when staff do not know a guest is standing in front of them because they are too busy with personal business. A nice touch would be a shuttle to downtown. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I can't find anything bad to say My wife and I stayed here for three nights and believe me when I say my wife is very fussy about hotel rooms being clean. We both agreed that the room was very clean, up to date, and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the free breakfast was great. Charleston is just 10 or 15 minutes down Hwy 17, there is a Ruby Tuesday right next door, and Ye Ole Fashioned Ice Cream & Sandwich Cafe just down the highway. April 12, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Little Disappointed I have used HI Express with really good success in the past. This hotel had just a couple issues that were not up to par based upon my experience at the other similar properties. First, the room had an odor. I did figure out how to open the windows and that helped a bit. The back of the bathroom door was really dirty and it kind of freaked us out... made us feel that other "unseen" things might not be clean. Lastly, we could not find a seat at breakfast - had to eat standing up. I have not lost faith in this chain. This experience was just a little disappointing. April 12, 2015
