Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not up to the HIE standards After traveling a good deal of the day, upon getting checked in and to our room, neither door key worked. But instead of moving us to another room, hotel management had to 1) come to the room and verify the keys didn't work, and (2) locate maintenance to reprogram the lock. That evening, when we wanted a soft drink from the cooler behind the counter, we were told it could NOT be added to our room bill; we had to pay cash. This required me to make a trip back to the room for money and return to the front desk. The next morning, we discovered the hair dryer did not work. Went to the front desk, asked for a replacement -- they didn't have one. (Again, another call to maintenance, who replaced the defective unit later that day.). We were staying two nights and noticed after the room was cleaned on day one, we were left with ONLY the towels we did not use. Fresh towels were not provided. This HIE has a very high nightly rate. In our experience, the lower-cost ones have been superior. March 21, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Great Location Showing Its Age We've been visiting this hotel since it opened, every year during the Spring. We love the location, and enjoy the amenities, including the breakfast. But this property is starting to show its age - we had a suite with two HVAC units. One never worked and the other on conked out during our last night. The room was missing the blackout curtain on one window, and there were other little issues like missing drawer pulls, no paper or pen, stains on the carpet and furniture, etc. When we talked to the staff, they seemed pretty powerless. The hotel was full, so maybe they're happy with the status quo, but we're seriously (and sadly) wondering whether we'll return. March 19, 2015

Telephones/remotes in poor operating condition or not working at all. Air con had a hard time keeping the room cool. Management staff could use a lesson in customer service. March 18, 2015
