Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Unpleasant Experience We stayed in Holiday Inn Express Dubai Airport between 1-8 October 2014 for a family holiday. Our Room (#161) A.C. was mostly non-functional during the stay. On 1 Oct, we logged complaints twice. Both times, different engineers confirmed that the A.C. was alright. On 5 Oct, at 1 AM after not being able to sleep, we spoke to the Duty Manager. On physical check up, it was found that the A.C. Capacitor had gone bad. As it was very late in the night, we decided against shifting to another room. The Duty Manager promised to file a report for the Hotel General Manager to contact us the next day. No one got back to us. The Management simply did not care. The Hotel Assistant Manager also provided a false statement to us on the availability of Room # 167 stating on one occasion that it was given to people who booked for 1 year, and later through the Reception about the A.C. not working. We found this room being provided to separate people on 1 Oct and then on 2 Oct, even though there was a claim by the Hotel that the A.C. was not working. The Hotel Staff was courteous. However, if you really want customer delight, then look at the courtesy that your sister hotel, Holiday Inn Al Barsha extends to it's customers. It is simply amazing. Maybe, you should get your Managers trained at Holiday Inn Al Barsha. To the hotel's credit, the Duty Manager on our last day tried to make up for the callous attitude shown to us by providing a late check out and a complimentary lunch. For the money charged, this hotel, other than the location, was of very low value to us. For such a serious deficiency in service (A.C. not working 100% at all times), the Hotel, if they actually care, should actually provide a Full Refund of the moneys paid to them. October 13, 2014
