The clerk would not let anyone check in until 3:00 (we were told 2:00), so there were quite a few of us sitting around the pool area until 3:00. There is significant traffic noise out there, but thank goodness the weather was sunny. If it was raining, my review would not be as positive. I am a frequent customer of another hotel chain, so I am accustomed to a higher level of employee friendliness, which I previously thought was a little "put-on" until I came here. I really missed that. Thankful for the public restroom available before we checked in, it was not super clean. I am glad, though, that I stayed anyway. When we arrived in the room, I was very happy with the comfort of the bed, cleanliness of the room, the breakfast was a nice variety from oatmeal to pancakes, eggs (scrambled and hard-boiled available), sausage or bacon, pastries. I don't remember that there was fresh fruit available. That said, the pool area was clean, the breakfast area was clean, the rooms were comfortable - - all in all a great stay (and a reasonable price, considering the lodging expense in Key West!!!!) Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Family Trip A nice hotel just above the entrance to the Florida Keys. Good location for traveling to the Keys or Everglades. Hotel was OK, didn't spend allot of time here except to sleep. Breakfast was good. Hotel staff was very nice. February 22, 2015

They never even acknowledged that I was a platinum member. I guess I have gotten too used to being treated well. We won't be back. February 16, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Staff We were greeted very warmly as we entered the lobby and during the check in process. Various staff we spoke to were helpful and friendly. We had a leisurely breakfast with another couple we met in the breakfast area. We came down a little bit later and avoided the rush so we were still there talking while they cleaned away the breakfast meal. Our checking out process was with a very nice lady at the desk. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Needs updating Hotel needs a total overhaul. Dingy hallways, doors and poor paint jobs are apparent. Room itself was comfortable with decent furniture and comfortable beds. Staff, however was top-notch, friendly and concerned. WE arrived after midnight and they were very understanding of our needs, directing us to a 24-hour restaurant and secure parking. Holliday Inn Express has always meant "New" to us and we were disappointed to find this hotel in need of updating. February 14, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Somewhat outdated Overall it just wasn't what we've come to expect from HI Express motels. The upstairs hallways are very outdated, the mattress was old and not very comfortable. The staff was not unfriendly but not overly helpful. Breakfast was typical HI Express except for fruit. They would bring out a few bananas at a time and if you weren't one of the first ones up there when they put them out, you were out of luck. No other fruit was offered. It was like they were rationing the fruit and a little bit later they would bring out a few more bananas. They ran out of coffee the second morning and we had to wait until they made more. It is not a nightmare place to stay at all but not as nice as most HI Expresses we have stayed at. February 13, 2015
