I had to come to the area due to a family emergency. Unfortunately it was just prior to a busy weekend. Staff were able to work with me so that I was able to stay the extra day I needed…I am very grateful!

the perfect room to be close to everything yet away from the crowds.
I had no real interaction with the staff, because there was no need to. The room was excellent, with no problems encountered.
I loved being close to the beaches, the ferry, Hanna Park, and restaurants. 10 min to the main N. Jacksonville beachfront.

Great front desk staff. Flooded parking lot upon arrival. The bathrooms do not have a vent which is unusual and can get a bit steamy when more than one person is getting ready. Overall though, a nice break in a long travel down the east coast to vacation.

This is a very nice, updated facility. It was the best breakfast service I've experienced in many years of staying at the HIEX. The food was great and varied (nuts and raisins available for oatmeal!). The kitchen help was extraordinarily nice. The pool was clean but has nothing but chaise lounge chairs. A few regular plastic lawn chairs would be nice for those who cannot rise easily from a low chair such as the chaises. It would also be an improvement if there were a couple of umbrella tables to sit at and under shade while watching a child swim. My greatest issue was with the check-in where the rate I was quoted and bought on the internet was higher than I bargained for. The desk clerk was either unable, unwilling, or simply not empowered to resolve a pricing issue. Ultimately this cost me $52 more than I should have paid. That's too much for me, but would have been a drop in the bucket for the hotel. It gave me a disgusted feeling during the entire three-day stay in spite of the lovely staff during the day.

My room was very nice. The staff (Heather and Amber) were very, very nice. They always greeted me with a smile and offered great conversation. A dog across the hall barked all night and people hung out in front of the hotel eating and drinking beer all night for two weeks was a little upsetting/scary.
Overall the hotel experience was a good one.
