Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not recommended I am an avid Holiday Inn Express customer. I am a part of the rewards program as I stay there so often. However, the experience at the Laurel, MS site was so disappointing. The lobby makes you believe that the hotel is nicely updated but it's just a disguise. There are stains everywhere; all over the carpets, walls, and doors. In the room I stayed in we had dead ants piled up in the bathroom as the Housekeeping staff did not see or care to clean them up before our check in. The following morning we found live ants in the bedroom area. I informed the front desk of the issue as to not assign another customer that room until it was properly cleaned or sprayed and the response I received was rather dull with a generic "I'm so sorry, we haven't had problems with ants on THAT side of the hotel"...note to self, it must be an issue. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by poor maintenance stayed on the 2nd floor a year ago and this year the carpet was dirty and stained last year was expecting the carpet to twice as dirty this year the pool had foam floating on the top of the water the shower stayed on (half way) could not take a bath the only good thing was the beds looked clean August 18, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great stay I travel a great deal for work and this is one of the best staffs I have experienced in my 8+ years of traveling. The entire staff makes your stay. The building has been remodeled recently and it is a great hotel. I again can not say enough the staff from the manager, check in clerks to the maid service are the nicest people I have meet and truly make the experience. If you are ever near Laurel this is the place I highly recommend. August 17, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Location This trip wasn't as pleasant as the last. Please provide boiled eggs for breakfast. Very important for nutrition purposes. I understand that eggs have been more expensive due to the Avian flu, but other properties offer them. August 17, 2015

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Adequate but Dirty In many ways the Hotel was OK but I just couldn't overlook the lack of cleanliness. Filthy carpet in the hallways, scuz in the showers, mold on the headboard! Breakfast was poor: no eggs, a fruit selection consisting of one orange and an attendant that was not inclined to try to remedy the situation. I'll not go back. Holiday Inn's calculated score of 2 out of 5 must be on based on my good rating of the internet and bed. August 6, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by laurel overall the stay was good. i was disappointed that there was not bottled or tap water available at breakfast. also, at other properties the dining area is open in the evenings for cocktails and light snacks. i really enjoy having an area outside of the room to "wind down" in this case the lights were not even turned on.
