Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by DO NOT GO HERE! I love this brand hotel and thought this would be a great stay according to the pictures online. Once we walked in, you could smell a bad odor that never went away. Went up to our room and it was so hot in the hallway. The carpet was dirty and stained. The table in the hall was dusty with sticky fingerprints. The mirror was smudgy. Walked in our room and it was an overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke. We tried to get another room, but they said that was the only one left. We wasted our rewards we had been saving for years on this disappointing room. We couldn't find another hotel in town so we had to stay even after we complained. Went to try the pool and hot tub. The hot tub was green and had foam with dirt or some sludge on it! The pool was cold and smelled bad. Never, ever staying here again. Makes me question our loyalty to this name hotel. September 3, 2015

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not recommended I am an avid Holiday Inn Express customer. I am a part of the rewards program as I stay there so often. However, the experience at the Laurel, MS site was so disappointing. The lobby makes you believe that the hotel is nicely updated but it's just a disguise. There are stains everywhere; all over the carpets, walls, and doors. In the room I stayed in we had dead ants piled up in the bathroom as the Housekeeping staff did not see or care to clean them up before our check in. The following morning we found live ants in the bedroom area. I informed the front desk of the issue as to not assign another customer that room until it was properly cleaned or sprayed and the response I received was rather dull with a generic "I'm so sorry, we haven't had problems with ants on THAT side of the hotel"...note to self, it must be an issue. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by poor maintenance stayed on the 2nd floor a year ago and this year the carpet was dirty and stained last year was expecting the carpet to twice as dirty this year the pool had foam floating on the top of the water the shower stayed on (half way) could not take a bath the only good thing was the beds looked clean August 18, 2015
