Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Very unhappy camper Dear friends at Holiday Inn Express, I and my family have stayed at Holiday Inns for many years, I would suppose most of the fifty years I and my wife have been married. We have generally had a very good experience. However our recent stay at Holiday Inn Express at 1452 Richmond Road in Williamsburg, Va was VERY unpleasant and stressful. Let me explain. I arrived last Thursday, Dec. 18th and had one free night from my points. My son had reserved three rooms for the next few nights as he and his brother were coming in Friday, Dec. 18th. I explained to the manager, Christine on Fri. Dec. 19th. that my son had reserved a room for us under his name for Dec. 19-22. She stated he would have to verify this by phone. I explained he was en route to Williamsburg from Dallas by plane and could not be reached right then. Our son came in later that evening and confirmed what I had told the manager. She insisted that I would have to pay for the three nights, Dec. 19-22. Our son had prepaid for the three nights which were to be for us, his parents. Unfortunately I had given a credit card the first night I arrived, even though it was already paid for with my points. When I checked out on the morning of the 22nd, i.e. yesterday, I had been charged for two night's stay, Dec. 20 and Dec. 21 I firmly believe I have been wrongfully charged. I am 74 years old and on a limited income. I should not have had any charge since the first night was covered with my points and the next three nights had been paid for by my son. This experience was most unpleasant and I trust you will instruct your hosts or hostesses to be more considerate in the future. I will expect a written reply to my complaint as soon as possible, and a refund to my credit card for the two nights for which I was charged. Many thanks, Harold December 23, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Quality stay but a green hotel? The room was fine, a nice size and very comfortable. I do question their commitment to being a "green" hotel when breakfast is served on Styrofoam plates with plastic silverware and towels that are hung up on the back of the door are replaced daily. Staff was very gracious and helpful when necessary and location is fairly convenient to area attractions. December 16, 2014
