Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Fine hotel, uneven staff, airport shuttle cancelled The hotel was fine, but the free hotel shuttle I reserved was not available. I called the hotel a few days before and was told that I was put on the 7:30am shuttle reservation list. I confirmed at the desk when I checked in that I had a 7:30am shuttle reservation the next morning. However, when I went to the desk to check out and get on the shuttle, the desk clerk told me that there was no reservation for me, and I was not allowed on the shuttle. He told me that my only option was a taxi. The taxi driver was already at the counter talking with the clerk. The clerk, who was very unfriendly, said that the cost would be about 20 Swiss Francs. It was actually 29, plus tip. It seems to me that the clerk and the taxi driver worked a scam, ignoring or deleting my shuttle reservation and forcing to take the taxi. But I had no other way to get to the airport, so I paid. August 31, 2014

Verbessert werden könnten noch die Servicezeiten beim Essen (Dauer Bestellung bis das Essen am Tisch serviert wird) sowie die Matratzen der Couchbetten (sind eher ein Notbett, denn ein Bett im eigentlichen Sinne). Ansonsten war es aber, auch in Anbetracht des Preises, eine sehr gute Dienstleistung. August 29, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great service and a great location at a great price. The Holiday Inn Express in Zurich is a place close to the airport and to the train. The staff was extremely accommodating. The room was serviced well. We tried to have dinner there, but the vegetarian option was not available. The hamburger was not very exciting and tasteless. The breakfast, on the contrary, was extremely well presented and very plentiful. The train in to Zurich is about a quarter of a mile away. The front staff ran off the train schedule and connecting trains and made suggestions about where we might take our grandchildren. There is but one restaurant in the area that is around the corner from the hotel. It has a pizza-pasta buffet every night of the week so there was plenty for everyone. Valentino's is its name. The pizza was tasty but quite salty. It was a welcome change from the hotel's dinner the night before. We were able to get the transport from the airport on both days in a timely manner. (Unfortunately, the Zurich airport does not tell you how to reach the hotel transports so a trip to the fourth floor to the service area is required.) I would recommend this hotel. August 28, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome service We stayed 2 nights in July 2014. This is a great place to stay when you are on a short trip and a tight budget. The room was comfortable albeit short on space. It was clean and functional, which meets our requirement. The washroom could use a bit of extra cleaning but nothing to get in a twist about. What I liked about the property was the fast and friendly service, the short distance from the Airport, the complimentary shuttle service and the overall value for money. If you are expecting the world of amenities then this place is not for you. You get what you pay for which is not exactly a bad thing. Check in was at 2pm however we reached the property at 10am (early flight) and to our surprise our rooms were ready in less than an hour. They set the right expectations, we were not promised early check in but they assured us they will do everything possible to accommodate our request. And they did exactly that. Breakfast choices were good and the hours are conveniently designed (starts at 4am). The shuttle service back to the airport is quite busy so I suggest you make your reservations upon check in. Leading up to our stay we had several questions which we emailed them and the staff at the hotel replied promptly and to our satisfaction. The staff is extremely hardworking, right from the front desk to the duty manager, in my opinion they make staying at an average place a great experience. August 27, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Cramped Breakfast Accomodations I am not sure if it was due to the large number of athletes at the hotel for the European Athletics Championship, but the breakfast area water pushed to a small corner of the hotel conference area and the selection was very poor compared to what was provided for the athletes and what we had had a another Holiday Inn Express a week earlier. The staff was friendly and the location was nice. August 18, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Convenient to airport, comfort/breakfast hit and miss We stayed twice, once in July and once in August. Our first stay was fantastic. Our second stay unfortunately included a very uncomfortable bed which made for a terrible nights sleep. Also a less than the normal (for this hotel) breakfast buffet was due to a large athletics group staying in house and having sole use of the restaurant. Other than this, its a great hotel. We made use of the airport shuttle, city shuttle and the train station which is about a 5 minute walk away. August 17, 2014
