Worst Stay (Would not recommend this hotel)

I would have to say check in was quick easy.. Hotel Restaurant closes at 11PM So no late night drinks or food after 11PM.. First night was fine until the temperature dropped outside.. The heating system in room would only blow out cold air. So I called the front desk. I was brought up a space heater for the room..

I was told by the hotel staff person who brought heater for room. That Hotel does not turn on heat until November 14,

I think it crazy bring space heater.. Thank god I didn't have kids

I chose Holiday Inn as it had all my needs for a comfortable and reliable along with a affordable high end Hotel that knows what its guests needs and go way out of their way to make your stay like you never left your home . Personally Holiday Inn makes your stay priority one.

Chambre magnifique, spacieuse, lumineuse et très propre.
Emplacement en centre-ville enviable, coin Crescent.
Coin déjeuner pour emporter manque de choix un peu. Personnel très sympathique et serviable. Aire de stationnement très facile d'accès.

Disappointed in check in

I spend 100+ nights a year in IHG hotels and have a sizeable amount of points built up. I gave my sister and her husband 3 nights in your hotel a week ago because they were celebrating and wanted a nice experience. I asked my sister to ask at the check in counter if they would upgrade their room, as they always do or say they do, whenever I check into one of the hotels. I booked a month in advance for the room. My sister was told by Alice P. that IHG does not upgrade rooms when booked on points. Well what does reaching Spire Elite really mean if you are not going to recognize the commitment that a person makes to stay in your hotels?
She was feeling miserable with a cold and called down to see if she could get some soup sent up to the room and was told that it was a spill hazard and could not be sent up only to open her door and see room service carrying 2 draft beers with plastic wrap over them to the room across the way.
And it is the first time that I have ever had a front desk clerk call me to confirm that the reservation was valid, and I have given away a lot of rooms. Alice told her that I had to be there to be able to accept the reservation??? Do you have issues with bad reservations in your hotel? My sister was wondering what kind of joke I was playing on her giving her points for this kind of experience.
I'll tell you that my sister and husband felt less than welcome and it was a horrible start to their stay. Their experience in Montreal was off to a bad start because of their less than ideal check in experience.
She did say that she was impressed with the concierge and that the location of the hotel to the downtown made up for a lot.
