Monroe Lake is Indiana's largest inland lake, encompassing 10,750 acres of water and 23,952 acres of land. Located southeast of Bloomington, it offers a variety of recreational activities, including boating, fishing, swimming, and hiking. The lake is surrounded by multiple state recreation areas, providing facilities such as beaches, picnic areas, and campgrounds, making it a popular destination for outdoor fun in the sun!

Dedicated to the people of Tibet, this Cultural Center, located on 90 acres just south of town, offers a relaxing and peaceful setting for meditation and reflection. The Tibetan Chortens here (two) are the only ones in the nation. The TMBCC was established by Indiana University Professor Emeritus Thubten J. Norbu in 1979 to acquaint people with the history and culture of Tibet and to support Tibetans everywhere.
