This collection of cars and memorabillia is a tribute to the auto industry, courtesy of one of Lansing's most prominent citizens, Ransom Eli Olds. The very first Oldsmobile, built in 1897, is on display along with antique REOs, Stars, automotive advertising and memorabilis. The gift shop has diverse auto-related items.

Beaumont Tower, a gift from John Beaumont, sits where Old College Hall (the first building erected for study of scientific agriculture) was built. When carillonneurs play noontime recitals on the 49-bell carillon, the tower is often open for visitors. Each Wednesday in July, guest carillonneurs play 6 p.m. recitals. Bring a picnic and enjoy the music.

The historic courthouse square in downtown Charlotte holds the 1885 Renaissance Revival East County Courthouse. One the National Register of Historic Places, the courthouse is now a museum, featuring the restored interior, curcuit courtroom and offices. Exhibits of Eaton County history and culture fill the structure and form the backdrop for numerous programs.

Malcolm X, eloquent spokesman for civil rights and for the oppressed everywhere, lived in Lansing in the 1930's on a site that is now a registered historical landmark. Malcolm X converted to the Nation of Islan, and became one of the first African-American leaders to openly articulate the extent of racial discontent in our society.

Locaated in the shadow of the Meridian Mall, the Meridian Historical Village provides a slice of 19th-century settler life. The Village contains seven historical buildings: a one-room schoolhouse, farmhouse and varn, general store, inn, 19th-century Okemos church, log cabin and a tollgate house from the plank road era. Located in front of the Hall of Justice, Between Ottawa and Allegan Streets, Lansing, MI
Erected and dedicated in 2001, this monument is a powerful tribute to the 2, 651 Michigan casualties who died during the Vietnam War. Over 400,000 men and women of the state served our country in this war. The memorial is a 120-foot long graceful steel arc that is suspended three feet above the ground.

The memorial is a 10-foot "Hbeam" salvaged from the World Trace Center and honors those who lost their live in New York Pennsulvania and Virginia on September 11, 2001.

Step back into the Victorian era with a visit to Michigan's award-winning Capitol building. Designed by Elijah E Myers, one of the foremost architects of public buildings during the Gilded Age, construction of the Capitaol Building took six years and contains over nine acres of hand-painted surfaces. The building was dedicated to the citizens of Michigan in 1879. Tours of the public areas and the House and Senate galleries are available every half hour.
