Renovations Needed

I believe this location previously was a Springhill Inn & Suites.

Upon driving up I should have know I was getting what I paid for. The landscaping was worn, overgrown, and poorly managed. Several rooms had torn curtains, so many so that it looked intentional. Not sure how that happens. And there was not sign above the front entrance (porte-cochère, aka car port), so it looked as if this was an unmanaged establishment.

The photos in the app/online looked bright and renovated. That was the case for the foyer and hallways. Inside the rooms, parts of it were renovated as well: furniture, artwork, appliances.

Issues I encountered: torn curtains (1st floor, so lack of privacy), stained carpet in multiple places, stained bathroom floor, trash can not emptied, marks on walls/mirrors, and top bed sheet had a stain of some sort—hoping it wasn’t blood...

In desperate need of repairs and renovations.

Great location!

Very easy and convenient for getting to the airport. I’ve stayed at other hotels in the area that advertise as “airport hotels”, but still take 15-20 minutes to get there. I was dropping my daughter off in 7 minutes! They also have airport transportation, which I will use in the future. Jason and Quintin were very prompt In taking care of any concerns. We felt like our stay was valued and we look forward to our next stay. The staff was friendly, professional and very accommodating. After staying here... I would definitely recommend this hotel!

When%20in%20Pittsburgh%20we%20typically%20stay%20at%20the%20Holiday%20Inn%20Express%20and%20Suites%20near%20the%20airport.%20It%20is%20close%20to%20our%20family%20and%20a%20good%20value.%20When%20I%20went%20to%20book%20our%20stay%20for%20a%20recent%20trip%20the%20Summit%20Suites%20was%20highlighted%20as%20a%20new%20IHG%20property.%20%20Due%20to%20the%20great%20location%20near%20restaurants%20and%20shopping%20we%20decided%20to%20give%20it%20a%20try.%20The%20photos%20on%20the%20site%20looked%20really%20nice.%20As%20we%20arrived%20there%20was%20no%20signage%20on%20the%20building.%20I%20wasn't%20even%20sure%20if%20it%20was%20open%20or%20not.%20You%20could%20see%20where%20the%20Springhill%20Suites%20by%20Marriott%20used%20to%20be%20on%20the%20front%20of%20the%20building%20and%20the%20sign%20at%20the%20street%20was%20blank.%20We%20parked%20and%20went%20inside%20to%20check%20in.%20The%20clerk%20and%20I%20believe%20the%20manager%20were%20discussing%20something%20and%20then%20proceeded%20to%20tell%20us%20about%20how%20horrible%20the%20people%20were%20that%20had%20just%20checked%20in.%20I%20did%20not%20get%20to%20experience%20the%20people%20they%20were%20talking%20about%20but%20I%20feel%20like%20if%20they%20were%20to%20say%20anything%20about%20a%20guest%20it%20should%20be%20in%20private%20and%20not%20a%20nee%20guest%20checking%20in.%20It%20took%20a%20fee%20minutes%20for%20the%20clerk%20to%20finish%20what%20she%20was%20working%20on%20before%20beginning%20our%20check%20in.%20I%20am%20a%20loyal%20IHG%20customer%20and%20have%20earned%20Spire%20status.%20Typically%20I%20am%20greeted%20as%20a%20member%20and%20thanked%20for%20my%20loyalty.%20Not%20this%20time.%20We%20checked%20in%20and%20were%20given%20our%20room%20key%20which%20said%20Springhill%20Suites%20by%20Marriott.%20We%20were%20not%20given%20any%20information%20about%20amenities%2C%20when%20and%20where%20breakfast%20was%20served%2C%20wifi%20info%2C%20how%20to%20get%20to%20our%20room%2C%20etc.%20%20As%20we%20made%20our%20way%20to%20the%20elevator%20we%20noticed%20all%20of%20the%20placards%20and%20signs%20said%20Springhill%20Suites%20by%20Marriott.%20Our%20room%20was%20a%20good%20size%20but%20a%20little%20dated.%20Our%20bathroom%20was%20not%20well%20cleaned%20and%20had%20hair%20from%20a%20previous%20guest%20or%20staff%20member%20on%20the%20floor%20and%20sink.%20We%20were%20too%20tired%20from%20our%20drive%20to%20call%20to%20have%20someone%20clean%20it%20up%20or%20change%20our%20room%20so%20we%20just%20cleaned%20it%20up%20ourselves.%20The%20bed%20and%20pillows%20were%20awful%20and%20quite%20worn%20out.%20We%20did%20not%20get%20a%20good%20night's%20rest.%20Breakfast%20was%20not%20great%20either.%20Eggs%20were%20cold%20and%20not%20the%20typical%20IHG%20breakfast%20you%20would%20expect.%20This%20property%20has%20a%20major%20identity%20crisis%20going%20on.%20I%20am%20really%20surprised%20that%20IHG%20would%20utilize%20this%20property%20without%20rebranding%20first.%20Everything%20even%20the%20bath%20products%20in%20our%20room%20were%20from%20Marriott.%20I%20think%20based%20on%20the%20%20location%2C%20once%20this%20place%20is%20converted%20to%20IHG%20fully%20and%20is%20updated%20it%20will%20be%20a%20great%20choice.%20Until%20then%20it%20is%20pretty%20disappointing.
