I stayed at the Crowne Plaza for a friends wedding and found the staff friendly and the hotel comfortable with excellant facilites.

as ever we use the Crown Plaza as our stop off prior to checking in at Gatwick.
Always find the staff good and hotel is comfortable.
best of all we get a great package on hotel and parking which means we can use Gatwick for cheap flights.

Having stayed at the Crowne Plaza Gatwick Airport for most of the past two years, i feel that i'm well qualified to comment.
I have found that dependent upon whom is on the fron desk depends on what service you get, as a Platimum card holder you would expect a slightly different approach from the staff yet it's hit and miss more regually a miss.
The food menu could be better with at least a monthly special.
Allocation of upgrade rooms again hit and miss more who you know rather than following a procedure that is applied to all.
Overall it's aplace to place your head at night, local to my place of work, foods average at best there is a service charge with everything, even standing at the bar and ordering a drink you recieve a service charge how can that be. OK for one night stays while waiting for that holiday flight to destinations a new, not a place to stay for any length of time.

The staff are very polite and professional, good amenities at the hotel with an adequate gym and decent size pool with steam and sauna all working well and clean. Very quiet and good comfortable bed.
Breakfast is outstanding.
Room was spotless with tea and coffee making facilities.
We would recommend staying at this hotel, as well as good value for money, the facilities and food being very good and the staff are very professional give a great combination. We have stayed at this hotel in the past, and will continue to do so, hopefully on a regular basis.

I stayed here at short notice for a meeting at the hotel. The initial greeting by the staff at the front desk was vey welcoming. The room was comfortable with good, clean facilities. Good night sleep, but if you have the window open, you can here the traffic. Breakfast was superb if a bit pricey at £15. I was not expecting to pay £10 extra to leave my car on site while attending the meeting though. Overall I would recommend this hotel and if in the area, stay here again.

I had the recent experience of a room upgrade to Club and was very pleased with the whole experience. The Club rooms appear to be in the newer part of the Hotel and the rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable.
My experience with the normal and superior rooms is that there is no difference and they are very small.
I look forward to my next upgrade during my next 2 visits in the next 2 weeks.

Everything about our stay was fantastic, from the service at the desk, to the quality of the facilities. The only issue that we had was with the Wifi. £10 for 24 hours is nearly what I would pay for a month of broadband in New Zealand, and when numerous publi places have it for free I was surprised to find out the cost.

Stayed two nights at this hotel arriving around midnight on the Friday.
Overall it was a fantastic stay at the hotel and it was everything you would expect from such an hotel, great customer service, high quality furnishings and food.
Unfortunately we did have a rude awakening on the saturday morning by an automated wake up call that we hadn't asked for, and the cleaners do start a bit early.

A convenient hotel based a short taxi ride away from Gatwick Airport. Friendly Staff and great Service. We had a couple of issues with our room and these were dealt with sufficiently and effectively by Janice the Guest Relations Manager. She was highly experienced and we were very impressed with her overall care, time and effort to learn about the issue and fix them to ensure our stay at the hotel was a great one. Breakfast was great and we would happily return to the hotel in the future.

It has been a while since I last used this hotel, mainly as I fly LHR. However on this occasion of flying with Virgin from LGW I pondered the choice of hotels! Sadly there is no well positioned IHG property for LGW, so I did my research! I discovered that this hotel is served extremely well by the No 10 local bus from both terminals, every 10 minutes and is £2.20 one way.
This hotel is a gem as the rooms are very comfortable, and well equipped for a family as well as business travellers. The hotel offers a Club Lounge with all the trimmings. It was a welcome break after an arduous train journey from my home town. Crossing London is never fun!
Reception were very welcoming. Smiles all round and engaged with my little boy (8) who was anxious at flying the next day. We had used Virgin's twilight check in so we're travelling light. The bathrooms were well equipped to allow us to check all of our bulky toiletries in!
Check out was a breeze. So quick, and with a bus stop around the corner from the hotel, we were back in the airport in 8 minutes.
Would definitely use this hotel again. Would recommend that they publish bus details on the IHG website as it only offers taxi at £15 o/w which originally put me off the idea of staying!

Experienced a very rude Receptionist during check in and our room was located directly above a very nosiey loading area which was in use until 2.30am. As we had to leave at 3am, we had little sleep.

Could not fault any aspect of the stay, I have stayed here a few times now and would not dream of going anywhere else when using Gatwick airport or in this vicinity for any other reason. The rooms are comfortable, clean and well appointed. Staff are just brilliant, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Food is excellent, what more could anybody ask.

Stay in lots of IHG hotels on business and so have a real grasp of what to expect. All I can say for CP Gatwick is if this was my first stay in an IHG hotel it would be my last! Poor food quality, long wait for service, noisy bedrooms and unfriendly staff. Just not what you expect from CP.

although called the Gatwick Crown Plaza, it is far enough away to avoid airport noise , however not central to Crawley so a cab ride to the town centre.
It is a nice enough hotel, clean, tidy, and good internet.

Your reception manager was very pleasant on my arrival, She apologised for my past experiences and told me I had been upgraded.
The upgraded room was pleasant, but not exceptional. The common areas are still in dire need of re-decoration and re-carpeting. The bar area needs refurbishing and bringing up to modern standards. The restaurant is tired and the breakfast menu 10 years out of date. Too much canned produce and not enough care with the fresh food preparation and presentation.
Just a really tired operation, not to your international standard.

We chose this hotel as it was fairly near Gatwick airport and offered a good value package of one nights accommodation and leaving our car there for 10 nights. The outside is a little dated looking but inside was different. Good attentive staff and the room was fantastic with a large comfy bed and great facilities. Yes there are other hotels closer to Gatwick Airport but you should check it out as we left very satisfied with our stay.

I dislike having to pay for parking and it should be noted that it is £10 for the night. I was pleasantly surprised to be upgraded on check in and I had a room at the rear of the hotel that was spacious and looked impressive. My concerns about the proximity to the dual carriageway and noise were unfounded.
There is a club lounge, but alcohol is only served between 6.30-8.30pm. I've not known restrictions in other CP hotels like this.
Anyway, it's a busy hotel due to the location near to Gatwick, but I had a very enjoyable stay due to the quality of the bedroom, a well appointed room with an extremely comfortable bed and there was even a tv in the bathroom!

Very nice hotel. The staff is very professional.
The club lounge offers canapés and drinks in the evening and served by attentive staff. The breakfast in the club lounge is ok; but could do better by more choice of hot items.
Enjoyed the pool and has aqua classes a few times a week.

- The person who checked me in was wearing a Trainee badge. He was dreadful. He gave me wrong information about breakfast timings, tried to charge me a higher rate than what was in my reservation, didn't apologise when I pointed it out, was so eager to add parking charges to my bill that he didn't even answer my repeated question as to whether he was going to charge me for it, instead getting defensive and fabricating a lie about doing it to save me from a '£100 fine' (under English law, only the state can issue fines, and it certainly doesn't tend to monitor hotel car parks), and even assigned me a twin room (a fantastic idea for anyone travelling on their own). Maybe the guy has the potential to actually become a good employee if given the right training, but if I were the manager who allowed him to come anywhere near customers, I would consider resigning.
- The room (006) was very spacious and relaxing, even if it was a bit time-consuming to get to. However, I did happen to see some rooms being cleaned in the morning, and they appeared to be a lot, A LOT smaller. Perhaps I was upgraded [without being told!] to something better than the bog-standard room that I had reserved.
- The waitress at breakfast was eager to inform me that I would have to pay an extra £1 if I wanted to drink espresso instead of filter coffee. I said it's OK (it isn't, but I didn't feel like complaining to her for what clearly was her manager's fault) and ordered a double espresso with a bit of froth on top (i.e. an espresso machiatto). After ignoring me for over ten minutes, she came over to ask me whether I would like tea or coffee!! I will admit I wasn't too discreet in reminding her that I had already ordered a coffee ten minutes previous. She did apologise (yay!), but then proceeded to bring me an espresso with no froth. Which I downed without making another complaint- as I had a meeting to go to.
- I think that the fact that a hotel charges its guests for parking while there is ample FREE on-street parking available 50 metres from the entrance. Ditch the silly pseudo'fines', and just charge those who want to leave their car there and fly from Gatwick to holidays lasting for days/weeks on end.
All in all, a poor experience. I am not in a rush to go back.

We had great service from all members of staff,they certainly went the extra mile on many occasions, and our requests were dealt with promptly and with a smile. The room was clean and comfortable.
We were long staying guests and the excellent service was consistent throughout our stay.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 No wake up call - staff did not believe!
Stayed I room 541 & 534! Asked for a wake up call for room 534! This did not happen!!! But the computer said it was answered so we were not believed!! I tried calling the room myself & got a weird message! Asked them to go to room and call from front desk to check! They knew we had a plane to catch and not much time & did not go to check, so we were just not believed!! Not happy with the service or attitude of the service staff!! I am sure that subsequently they will have found that the phone does not work! But I doubt I will get a refund or apology of any sort!!
If we had not gone and knocked on the door we could well have missed our flight!
