The service provided by all staff was excellent and we could not fault our stay. The free hotel shuttle service was an unexpected benefit. We had a few meals there which were acceptable. The hotel is located across the road from the castle and there is plenty to do in the locale for a short stay

A lot of pomp and flash, but little service and overpriced. We had a lovely english speaking concierge when we first arrived but when he was away sick other staff could not provide any assistance, had no idea of the things our other concierge was researching for us and seemed reluctant to help. Free shuttle bus was always full and had to wait long periods resorting to taxis in some cases. We booked a '2 Double bed' room on their direct website for my husband and I to share one bed and my son to have the other. When we arrived were told that that room type was not available in their motel and were given a room with two single beds and a fold out sofa, making the room very cramped. Would not stay here ever again.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 be aware, significant additional person charge and rude staff
I've stayed at many IHG hotels around the world as a platinum member. This is the first one made me feel very disapplointed. The hotel charges additional person fee starting from the 2nd person, about $30 per person starting from the 2nd person. Who travels alone in this tourist area? The minute you enter the very empty hotel, the staff make every effort to count the number of guests. A quick phone call follows you to your room for the additional charges. When I asked about the benefit of a platinum member, the front desk, as well as the manager, was very rude. I was told, this is a newly joined hotel for IHG group (formerly ANA). So they are not familiar with the IHG rules. They upgraded me to a 5th floor "view" room. This is the least benefit I've seen during my 3-week Asia trip. I expressed my complain, and of course, very cold response, "this is what we do", no smile, poor communication, makes you feel very rude. I emailed my experience to IHG, and got a reply that the hotel will address my concerns. What I received was at checkout, a very cold print letter, copy paste IHG member benefit from IHG website, basically "this is what you deserve", and no sender! This is extremely rude. I wouldn't go back to this hotel again, nor would I recommend it to anyone. Apparently this hotel has no sense of hospitality at all.
