I was taken ill during my stay and the staff were truly excellent in helping myself and my friends during this difficult time. I cannot commend them highly enough.
In addition, the hotel is lovely - very attractive, perfectly clean, good food, wifi in the rooms, good swimming pool.

This is my very first stay at a Holiday Inn property. No doubt, the property lives up to the reputation of a good luxury hotel. The rooms are spacious and great decor with a neat and clean bathroom. We were located on the 2nd floor deluxe rooms overlooking the garden side of the hotel and the huge glass floor to ceiling window allowing glorious sunlight in was a pleasing experience in itself. That said, food i ordered in the room turned out to be disappointing. Being in Amritsar and not serving food to please the pilgrims who frequent Amritsar for offering obeisance to Guru Nanak ji is in itself a sin. It is said that every restaurant worth its reputation in Amritsar tries its best to serve the most satisfying meal, in the belief that if they manage to satiate a humans appetite, then, in some way they are pleasing Guru nanak ji, Sorry to say dear chefs of Holiday Inn, the meal that i ordered, stuffed kulchas, turned out to be a huge disappointment. The quantity was good, but not the taste. I cannot comment on the other dishes as i stayed for just one night. Breakfast was a good spread and better in terms of quality and taste, but then very few star rated properties can go wrong with standard buffet fare of south indian, north indian and continental breakfasts. Service was good and yet, there was a moment at check in, that left one disturbed. Upon check in, the girl at the front desk politely and gently asked my wife if the "gentelman" (me) would be staying in the room with her (the reservation was in her name) and whether she wanted a twin bed???. My wife equally politely replied "It would be nice if he stayed with us, being my husband". A judgmental front desk? We have stayed in the topmost properties around the world, and this is the very first time i have faced this query. I attribute this faux pas to Holiday Inn front desk not being tutored thoroughly to this effect, and thus place the onus on the management to ensure that their front desk staff is trained to five star standards. Otherwise it was a pleasant experience and an enjoyable one for me and my wife and my 4 yr old daughter, who thoroughly enjoyed the park(govt owned) right opposite the property, filled with loads of fun free play area stuff like swings slides and what not. The pool was also of satisfying length and just the right depth to enjoy a good swim. Fifteen minutes (4 km) ride to Golden temple, so location was ok. Overall, a good property to come back to
