Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly staff & relaxed atmosphere We enjoyed our stay in the Holyday Inn in Ashford very much. Our room was spacious and the staff was ever so friendly. We will come back next year. May 21, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Stay overnight was Average Transfer to Station on return journey charged for by Taxi company having already paid on booking. Having paid up front for Station transfers, we were charged again on return journey, a Party of 10 with 3 young tired children and lots of luggage. Will be making a complaint officially, to late and tired to challenge at the time. May 18, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by good location This was our second Holiday Inn we have tried, and unfortunately experienced the same problem with the restaurant again. There was a wedding reception being catered for and a coach party, which took priority over the hotel diners. We waited an hour and a half for our meal and when mine arrived it was not cooked. This was dealt with by the restaurant staff and have no complaints with them. The room was very comfortable and well maintained, very quiet as we had requested. The locality of the hotel was good, easy access to the main roads and within walking distance of Ashford town, which had a mixture of small shops and precincts. It only took us 20 minutes to drive into Hythe for some sea air. Very good value for money May 7, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Overnight stop off Hotel is a little tired and would benefit a refit in the not too distant future but the staff makes well with what they have and were friendly upon arrival. Dining room service was basic but the food edible. There were no twin room up-grades available for my PC Plat Membership but that is the luck of the draw and this was repeated throughout the chain all the way to Nice. Sofa bed was not particularly comfortable for an adult but it was all there was. Room was cramped for dual occupancy with both bed and sofa bed in use. AC set to 'incinerate' and staff unable to override - window chained virtually shut. Would have stood me in good stead if I had been embarking on the Paris-Dakar the next day. We have been using this hotel for year’s en-route to Nice. I think it is time to change! April 30, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ideal location with tremendous food and service We decided to stay at the Holiday Inn Ashford Central as we wanted to make the journey across the Channel to France an easy experience. The staff in the hotel were absolutely professional and offered excellent service throughout the hotel during our stay. We were offered the chance to take advantage of the hotel meal deal to eat in the restaurant. Having stayed in many hotels over the years, I have often decided to go out to eat as the restaurants tend to offer very average and expensive fare. This is not the case here at all. Don't walk across the road to the local Harvester, just stay and enjoy the delights of this hotel restaurant. We opted for the two course dinner priced at £20 per person which included two drinks from a selection at the bar. Fantastic food, drink and service followed this decision and frankly made the stay one to remember. Make sure that you use this hotel if you are making your way to France, or even passing by when you need a tasty meal. We will return! Thanks to all of the staff for their excellent service. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable room but bathroom facilities poor on this occasion This is the second time I have stayed. The Hotel is generally quiet and comfortable. However, on this occasion the bathroom was not up to standard, the air vent was very noisy and was blowing cold air most of the night. The shower head did not work and it was almost impossible to have a decent shower using the hand held shower head fixed near the taps. Very disappointing as after a long journey I was looking forward to a long hot shower! I have another booking but will check out the bathroom on arrival. April 24, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor, Poor, Poor! Staff very good. No food left on menu. Bar was empty of wine or beer. Room would've been at home in the 70's. shame about all the black mould and poor taps / bath etc. The staff tried to be helpful, but personally, this is the worst IHG Hotel I have ever stayed at. Happy to discuss further with IHG management at any time. April 13, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 2nd great stay in a week! We had 3 rooms on the 5th April and I back up everything that Ii said about the Holiday Inn Ashford on our outward journey of 31st March. We were delighted with everything! Thank you to all the staff for their hard work and fantasic approach! April 13, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Just what was required! After a long drive we (2 adults 2 kids) just wanted to get to our room, get comfortable and have a good nights sleep. This is exactly what we got. Check in was efficient, the room spacious with the added bonus of a bed each for the kids rather than the tussle of sharing a sofa bed. We didn't have breakfast as we were heading for the ferry early next morning but were able to check out quickly. Incidentally we had 2 bikes on the back of the car left in the car park over night without any problems. We were getting an early ferry and allowed an hour to get to Dover and check in which normally would probably have been sufficient but given it was Good Friday there was a long queue at Dover and only just got on in time! Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice place to overnight and more We travelled to Calais for a shopping trip and decided to stay the night before and after at this hotel. We were greeted with a smile and efficiency in a quick check-in and assurance that we knew a little of the hotel before we went to our room. We found the food to be very good and the service excellent, even with having to request salt and pepper at each meal due to a lack of condiments on the table. The room was airy and clean. The bed comfortable and more than enough furniture to meet our needs. The bathroom was clean and could only be faulted by the cheap shower head that could not be altered without water leaking everywhere. It would be worth spending the extra pound on a decent shower head, unless of course too many are being stolen! Overall a relaxing, comfortable stay. April 12, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pets welcome Very helpful staff who made us and our pet welcome. April 8, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by comfortable bed and good service a pleasant stay and worth recommending. would stay here again. April 7, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Lovely hotel, Good food, but very slow service Very nice staff, very clean bedroom with AC, nice bar/Resturant. BUT we was there at Easter 2013 and the Resturant and bar area was too cold. What they hadn't ran out off in the Resturant was very nice but too slow coming for some. We wasn't going out and wasn't in ant rush so we was ok with the service. We would go again and recommend. April 6, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great way to Disney!!! Friendly staff and great atmosphere in the old part of the Hotel - really enjoyable way to travel to france via the Eurostar. Us Northerners need good stop overs like this to refresh! April 4, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Room 220 The hotel is good - clean room, nice & friendly staff, good breakfast. However, it is best to avoid room 220 (and the ones nearby) due to a very noisy system (ventilation system ?) right outside the room resulting in a sleepless night for me (my 10 year old daughter did sleep soundly). People with walking difficulties may like to know that there is no lift so it is best to try and ask for a room on the ground floor. April 2, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by General Comments Good location. Very good reception staff. Pleasant clean room very well maintained. Good breakfast with attentive staff. Overall a good place to stop March 30, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lovely staff, great food Staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. The room was spacious and well equipped and the food in the evening and at breakfast was excellent. The lady on reception when checking out booked a room for me at Coquelles and overall a pleasure to deal with March 24, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect stay on way to Disneyland Paris Firstly I must thank Bindiya, the reception manager for organising a super room for our overnight before getting the ferry from Dover to Calais. We very much appreciated the whirlpool bath and comfy bed. The room was spotless, and the requested cot was present for our daughter. My only complaint was the travel cot provided was rather old and sagged in the middle. I wish Holiday Inn would invest in some nice solid cots with proper cot mattresses. That said it was adequate for 1 night when padded with the cushions from the sofa. We arrived late after a long journey down from the North and a detour off the M20 due to operation stack so did not have dinner in ther restaurant. Therefore we cannot comment on the quality of the food however there are plenty of fast food restaurants in the area and a pub chain over the road from the hotel. We did not try the breakfast as we had an early start but the complimentary tea and coffee in reception was much appreciated and put us on until we could get breakfast on the ferry. This was a reward nights stay and the bonus 500 points voucher was a nice touch. March 18, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Weekend Break I am disabled and in a wheelchair, the room was excellent, plenty of room to move around. The bathroom was spacious and easy for me to manouve around, the bed was comfortable and very clean. Breakfast was very good with lots to choose from. March 9, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good access to Channel Tunnel Excellent hotel, reasonable rates and location to Channel Tunnel very good, although didn't get opportunioty to sample breakfast as had to leave early February 22, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Freindly, comfortable good value for money The Staff in this hotel a very friendly, The food was great. The rooms are comfortable and perfect for a couple of nights stay if you are looking to do things in the area. February 10, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful Staff We have been using the Holiday Inn Canterbury Road, for over 4 years, staying an average of 6 - 8 times a year. We have always found the Reception Staff and the catering staff and cleaners all very friendly, helpful and professional, to the extent that we have highly recommended your hotel to our friends, who regularly attend Ashford for meetings and they have also found that the staff are very good. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for all the girls and staff. The only critism is that your bar prices are far too expensive. sincerely Mr & Mrs S Lancley February 3, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 Breakfast poor Room was clean and tidy although rooms needed a facelift. Only one towell in bathroom, found out the next day the other towell was in a drawer under the TV mmmmhhh. Bathroom had no shower gel or shampoo. Paid for breakfast and despite only handfull of other guests they had run out of bacon, beans, mushrooms, butter - manger sent out staff member to the local shop, by the time she returned we had finished breakfast. Although staff were helpful seemed poorly managed / organised. February 3, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 1st Time here and I loved it!!!!!!! My First stay here. Normally stay at B&B in the town. Really nice rooms. January 22, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Eurostar package excellent; Room quality poor For a family of 4, we booked the Eurostar package which is very good value and well managed ie in terms of checking-in/out, sorting out taxis etc The room we were allocated, however, was under-prepared and uncomfortable. The room's temperature when we entered was a stifling 28 degrees and we had to halve it. The package includes 1 double bed & 1 sofa bed but we had 1 made-up double bed; 1 made-up single bed; and no bedding for the sofa bed. In addition, there were only 2 towels and 1 small shampoo bottle between the 4 of us. Also with the kettle and drinks there were only 2 milk capsules. To be fair to the Receptionist, who was excellent, all the above was rectified within an hour but as we arrived at about 9.30pm, we could have done without this hassle Despite all of this, because the Eurostar package is so good, we would consider returning. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by thomas67 very good hotel , shame there is no pool or gym ;) January 3, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Clean and comfortable Ashford Central is a bit out of the centre to be called Central, but it's only 15 minutes walk away from Ashford town centre, with a thriving semi-pedestrian area with interesting shops and good pubs. The room was comfortable and I slept really well, despite the very thin duvet (I had to nick the duvet off the other twin bed and use that as well) Loads of hot, hot water for a nice long soak, with plenty of towels and a room serviced daily to a very high standard. Staff helpful and friendly, particularly on the Reception desk (Hi, Zoe !) and a pleasure to deal with. The maintenance staff patrolled the car park helping out with de-icing on cold mornings, and there's free coffee to take with you while you're waiting for the car to warm up. Breakfast was wholesome with the standard choices to a good quality, again with pleasant service. The evening bar food was uninspiring, I didn't try the restaurant. The bar/restaurant was cold. On the whole, a bit pricey when you compare against some top notch hotels I use regularly, but for all that, a restful place to stay when your working. See you soon. December 22, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Wedding caused problems Our stay on the outward leg of a trip via the tunnel was excellent. Our experience on the return was the opposite. A wedding function was being held in the hotel, which also had quite a few business guests and pre christmas get togethers. We accepted that the Restaurant was closed as we had been delayed on the crossing, but were told we could get a snack at the bar. The drinks were instant and we heard our food being ordered, but over 3/4 hours to produce a reheated pasta dish was too much. Having had a long day we retired to our room, which in fairness was to your usual high standard. However we were awoken by one almighty row in the passage outside our room, where a Mother was knocking seven bells out of her son and his shouting "Get off me mum" was concerning my wife. Eventually he was put in his room, where he continued to sob & splutter until he (we assumed) fell asleep. Another hotel chain has a "good nights sleep policy" and refunds the room charge under these circumstances. All we got was "Sorry we've had a few complaints - you were at the end of the corridor.
